Job description

The Salesforce Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, engineering, and optimizing Salesforce solutions that support critical business needs.

This role involves developing scalable applications, improving existing processes, conducting technical analysis, and working with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

The engineer will operate with a high level of independence and contribute to continuous platform improvement. This position requires onsite presence three days per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, implement, and deploy Salesforce solutions using point-and-click features, Apex, Triggers, Lightning Web Components (LWC), REST/SOAP integrations, and related technologies.
  • Analyze and resolve technical issues using structured problem-solving methods.
  • Conduct estimations, perform design and code reviews, and identify system or process gaps with recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Create and maintain design models and best practices for internal teams and vendors.
  • Review Salesforce Release Notes and identify new features that can be incorporated into existing systems or business processes.
  • Conduct proof-of-concepts (POCs), document findings, and present recommendations, business use cases, cost impacts, and execution plans.
  • Prepare technical specifications, design documentation, and related deliverables.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to vendors or less experienced team members.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and cross-functional teams to support ongoing and new initiatives.
  • Follow corporate policies related to code of conduct, safety, compliance, data security, and software development lifecycle standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with at least 5 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 4 years of experience.
  • Ability to understand overall project objectives and adapt approaches as needed while escalating issues appropriately.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to keep stakeholders informed through clear verbal and written updates.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and support others in adopting them.
  • Experience organizing and presenting project objectives, contributing to technical publications, and supporting documentation.
  • Ability to gather vendor estimates and contribute to overall project planning.
  • Experience maintaining professional working relationships with affiliates, subsidiaries, and vendors.
  • Proven ability to produce and maintain required technical documentation.
  • Experience with the following (minimum 4 years each):
  • Salesforce administration and development
  • Designing and implementing new processes and supporting user adoption
  • Performing upstream and downstream impact analysis across applications and systems
  • Building custom applications using Triggers, Apex, Aura, LWC, REST/SOAP integrations, Flows, and Platform Events
  • Writing SOQL/SOSL and SQL using any RDBMS (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, DB2)
