All employees are expected to live and work in Wisconsin. This position will have the option of working remotely upon agreement of the supervisor but may be asked to come into the office periodically. This schedule may change based on operational needs and organizational requirements.

Under the general supervision of the Business Application Services IT Director, in the Division of Enterprise Technology (DET), this position is responsible for providing technical expertise in the planning, design, implementation, and administration of Salesforce and MuleSoft applications and support services that have statewide impact. Responsibilities include research, standardization, deployment, administration, and support of tools and platforms associated with enterprise CRM and integration needs.
This position will work on the development and enhancement of systems using Salesforce technologies (including Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows) and MuleSoft for API-led connectivity and system integration. The incumbent will be expected to apply secure development practices, participate in DevSecOps pipelines, and incorporate cybersecurity measures throughout the system lifecycle. Familiarity with standards like NIST 800-218 (SSDF) and ISO 27034 is essential for developing secure systems.
The developer will support application design, configuration, customization, integration, security, testing, deployment, and maintenance. The position also includes support for ongoing enhancements and problem resolution, working closely with customers, vendors, and internal IT staff.
This role plays a key part in delivering and evolving enterprise-level Salesforce solutions, while also building secure, scalable APIs and data flows using MuleSoft. The developer will collaborate with IS Specialists, Security Analysts, and Project Managers to deliver robust solutions. Integration of multiple data sources, SaaS platforms, and legacy systems will be required. Production system support and adherence to security policies and compliance frameworks are ongoing expectations.

Starting salary for the IS Systems Development Services Senior (07-34) will be between $30.76-$47.72 and starting salary for the IS Systems Development Services Specialist (07-33) be between $35.90-$55.06 hourly. Salary will be determined by applicant qualifications. A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.
Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct fingerprinting and background checks on applicants prior to selection. DOA does not sponsor work visas and is not an eligible OPT (Optional Practical Training) employer for F-1 international students. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form upon hire.
All employees are expected to live and work in Wisconsin. Interviews may be conducted onsite in Madison, WI.
