Amazon is seeking a Salesforce Developer, System Development Engineer II, to design and deliver Salesforce-based systems powering contracting, approvals, and deal management for AWS field teams. You will write Apex and LWC, integrate with distributed services, and build LLM-powered automation at massive scale.

You’ll contribute across the full software lifecycle, review code, and mentor peers while collaborating with deal desk, legal, finance, and solutions architecture teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• Experience automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes.
• Bachelor's degree
• Experience working in an Agile environment.

The AWS Field Experience (AFX) team builds go-to-market tooling that gives the AWS sales and marketing organization superpowers, helping them focus on customers instead of manual processes. As a Salesforce Developer, System Development Engineer II on AFX, you will design and deliver the Salesforce-based systems that power contracting, approval workflows, and deal management for the AWS field. You will build on the Salesforce platform (Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and platform APIs) and integrate it with distributed services and LLM-powered automation that operate at AWS scale.

You will work across the full software development lifecycle, writing high-quality Apex and LWC code, contributing to system and data-model design, and collaborating with partners across the AWS partner business, deal desk, legal, finance, and solutions architecture teams.

Key job responsibilities

• Design and build Salesforce applications and APIs (Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and platform integrations) that power contracting, approval workflows, and deal management for one of the largest field sales organizations in the world, covering the full lifecycle from design through deployment and operations.
• Develop and optimize approval-flow and workflow-orchestration logic on the Salesforce platform, including multi-stage routing, delegation, escalation, and gate enforcement, that keeps contracting fast, compliant, and fully auditable.
• Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external systems, synchronizing deal and account data across systems at scale and improving data quality and coverage.
• Implement LLM-powered workflows and automation that reduce manual effort for the sales field and generate actionable insights from complex contracting and account data.
• Participate actively in code reviews, providing constructive feedback that raises engineering standards, and mentor other engineers through documentation, training, and pairing sessions.
• Identify root causes of operational issues and drive permanent fixes, while collaborating with stakeholders across deal desk, legal, finance, the AWS partner business, and solutions architects to ensure your solutions meet real customer needs.

A day in the life

You start by reviewing pull requests from teammates (Apex classes and LWC components), offering detailed feedback that helps everyone grow.

Mid-morning, you dig into a feature in the approval-flow logic, writing Apex and pairing with a colleague to work through a tricky integration between Salesforce and a downstream AWS services.

After lunch, you join a design discussion with solutions architects about how an LLM-powered workflow can reduce manual steps for the field team.

Later, you investigate an operational alert on a contracting flow, trace it to its root cause, and ship a lasting fix.

You move between focused coding and cross-team collaboration with partners in deal desk, legal, and the partner business.

About the team

The AFX teams sit within AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services and build the infrastructure that supports the sales field and AWS customers at massive scale. This team owns the Salesforce-based contracting and approval-workflow platform, the systems that take a deal from opportunity to signed, executed contract. Our closest partners span deal desk, legal, finance, the AWS partner business, and solutions architecture organizations. We are investing heavily in LLM-driven tooling and large-scale data processing to redefine how go-to-market and contracting teams operate. The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
