Base pay range

$60.00/hr - $65.00/hr

Location: Indianapolis, IN (Onsite 5 days a week)

Duration: 1-year+ ongoing contract

Pay: $60-65/hr

Summary:

The Salesforce Application Developer works under limited supervision to perform systems analysis, design, development, and administrative duties for Salesforce and other enterprise applications. This role is responsible for interpreting business requirements into technical solutions, performing hands‑on development, testing, and supporting Salesforce implementations while adhering to established standards and best practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, test, and implement application solutions within Salesforce.
  • Modify and upgrade existing Salesforce systems and custom components.
  • Develop new features using Lightning Components and Apex.
  • Integrate Salesforce with external systems via APIs (SOAP, REST, MuleSoft).
  • Configure custom objects, fields, page layouts, workflows, and approval processes.
  • Ensure adherence to Salesforce Governor Limits and implement best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Salesforce and associated integrations.
  • Maintain and upgrade system components as needed.
  • Manage data via DataLoader, including development of data models and junction objects.
  • Monitor system performance and execute maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Project Managers, and Developers to define and deliver solutions.
  • Provide subject matter expertise during discussions on new functionality or enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and training materials.
  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops for end users and stakeholders.
  • Manage the end-to-end testing process for new functionality:
  • Create and execute test cases.
  • Establish testing environments and coordinate testing efforts.
  • Analyze new Salesforce release features and assess impact on the current environment.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, particularly within the Salesforce ecosystem.
  • Recommend and implement third-party AppExchange solutions.
  • Promote adoption of Salesforce best practices and platform capabilities.
  • User management: provisioning, password resets, role and permission set assignments.
  • Data management: defining data standards, performing audits, and analyzing data quality.
  • Configuration: customizing standard and custom objects, workflows, and approval processes.
  • Reporting: design and maintain dashboards, reports, and custom report types.
  • Support adoption: provide user support and training to improve engagement and effectiveness.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience developing and implementing IT solutions.
  • Experience working in high-demand, collaborative environments with tight deadlines.
  • 5+ years of experience with Salesforce Lightning.
  • Advanced knowledge of Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Web Components.
  • Proficient with Salesforce Object Query Language (SOQL) and Salesforce Object Search Language (SOSL).
  • Experience integrating external systems with Salesforce.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce Communities, Governor Limits, and deployment strategies.
  • Familiarity with MuleSoft ESB is a plus.
Web Development (Preferred)

General Technical Skills:

  • Solid foundation in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design patterns.
  • Experience with other programming languages such as Java, Python, MS VBA, or VB.NET.
  • Broad knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud computing, and system interfaces.
