The Plumbing Warehouse is one of those trade names and is looking for a Sales & Warehouse Specialist at their New Orleans, LA location.

Pay for this position is between $16 and $18 per hour at this location.

About the Role:

You will:

  1. Engage in counter sales, warehouse, and driving tasks, providing total care for our customers and ensuring we meet their expectations every time they interact with us.
  2. Provide sales and support to walk-in customers at our will-call sales counters and to field customers at off-site delivery locations.
  3. Be responsible for receiving incoming vendor shipments and customer return material; for stocking and maintaining the warehouse and counter sales areas; and for picking, documenting, and packing customer orders.
  4. Load and unload trucks and perform merchandise deliveries and pickups.
  5. Confidently assist customers who purchase and/or pick up merchandise at the Profit Center.
  6. Accurately process and fill Sales Orders generated at the sales counter.
  7. Provide customers with reliable information regarding product specifications, pricing, and availability.
  8. Keep counter area and merchandise displays clean, neat, current, stocked and safely displayed.
  9. Process cash sale returns and refund paperwork in accordance with Company policy and procedure.
  10. Inform supervisor of inventory levels or stock depletions that could impact customer service levels.
  11. Process vendor shipments or customer returns.
  12. Operate trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws and regulations. Destinations include job sites, customer facilities, vendor facilities, other Hajoca locations, facilities of other wholesalers, or other locations as directed by management.
  13. Perform all job functions in accordance with the company’s Safety Standards.
  14. Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
  15. Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.

About You:

  1. 1+ years’ experience in warehouse and material handling experience.
  2. 1+ years’ experience in sales and customer service preferred.
  3. Be able to drive a vehicle over 10,000 lbs. As a non-CDL driver, you must:
  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Possess a proper and valid driver’s license.
  • Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver in accordance with Company policy.
  • Be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before beginning work and again at least every two years while employed and performing this job function.
  • Possess outstanding customer service, verbal communication, and generous listening skills.
  • Be able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Be able to quickly develop comprehensive knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center.
  • Be able to learn and operate the computer related systems used in warehouse operations, the delivery process, and to process orders.
  • Know of, be able to apply and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
  • Know laws, rules and regulations governing driving motor vehicles in general, and commercial motor vehicles subject to the Department of Transportation regulations in particular.
  • Be able to learn to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment in use at the Profit Center.
  • Be able to remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, and/or emergency situations.
  • Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
