Job description
Overview

KEY WORDS: Agentic AI, Underwriting, Fast Growth, Wide Open Territory

  • Company is a fast-growing UK Insurtech that’s helping carriers around the world rewrite the rules of underwriting.
  • Our platform turns messy submissions into quote-ready insight in seconds, so insurers can price risk smarter, move faster, and grow profitably.
  • We’ve already laid strong foundations in North America and sparked real excitement among leading specialty and commercial insurers.
  • Now we’re looking for an ambitious, self-starting Sales Director to build on that momentum, someone who thrives when the playbook is still being written, loves the hunt of a complex sale, and is ready to be the flag-bearer for the Company brand across the U.S. and Canada.
Role Overview
  • You will own new-business acquisition in the United States, with a focus on Tier 1/Tier 2 carriers, reinsurers and MGAs in specialty lines. You will identify whitespace accounts, open doors from scratch, run a structured consultative sales process and close multi-year SaaS deals while collaborating thoughtfully with pre-sales, product and executive leadership in both the US and UK. To begin with this is a pure sales hunter role but with ample room to progress.
Key Responsibilities
  • Pipeline Generation & Prospecting: build and execute an outbound strategy (cold-calls, email, social, events) targeting senior underwriting, innovation and data leaders.
  • Deal Management: run discovery, product demos, proposals, pricing and contract negotiations through close with MEDDIC underpinning your sales work.
  • Stakeholder Mapping: cultivate C-suite and VP-level relationships within carriers, reinsurers and MGAs; leverage your personal network to accelerate access.
  • Market Intelligence: relay customer feedback and competitive intel to Product & Marketing; help refine US go-to-market messaging.
  • Thought Leadership: represent Company at industry forums and conferences; speak on panels and publish viewpoints on specialty-insurance innovation.
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • 7 - 10 years of quota-carrying enterprise SaaS sales experience, with at least 5 years selling into U.S. insurance or specialty-lines markets
  • Documented success in a high-growth start-up / scale-up (Series A - C preferred): you’re comfortable with ambiguity, limited resources and building playbooks yourself.
  • Deep understanding of U.S. carrier/MGA operating models and value drivers, underwriting workflows, reinsurance structures, and regulatory environment.
  • Existing senior contacts across major carriers, reinsurers and MGAs throughout North America; able to open doors on day one.
  • Demonstrated hunter mentality, consistent over-achievement of ARR targets via cold outreach, multi-stakeholder deal orchestration and creative deal structuring.
  • Self-starter who works independently in a remote environment while partnering seamlessly with cross-functional and international teams.
  • Willingness to travel ~(client on-sites, industry events, London HQ visits).
  • Strong executive presence, consultative selling skills and financial acumen; able to quantify ROI and build business cases.
What We Offer
  • Competitive base + aggressive, uncapped commission plan.
  • Comprehensive health (U.S. plan).
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Quarterly team off-sites in London or NYC.
  • Opportunity to grow the business and organization in North America.
  • Budget for industry events, conferences and professional development.
