Job Purpose:

Our Sales Trainee will be responsible for learning Veritiv’s full sales lifecycle and supporting the sales team with generating new leads within a designated region or industry. This role will also focus on maintaining customer relationships, increasing revenue from existing accounts and provide specific solutions and quotes. This position requires a competitive and motivated spirit with the drive to solve problems.

Job Responsibilities:
  • ● Generate new leads by researching networking, cold calling, and prospecting.
  • ● Increase revenue and profitability through the generation of new business and further development of existing accounts.
  • ● Execute sales initiatives to grow sales and profitability within accounts.
  • ● Assist clients in establishing sustainable packaging supply chains.
  • ● Understand complex requirements from customers for preparation of packaging solutions and quotes.
  • ● Manage customer projects in various industries such as Food, Technology, Healthcare, Automotive, Industrial, etc.
  • ● Educate clients on the latest innovations within our industry.
  • ● Work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment to create a positive customer experience that results in repeat business.
  • ● Additional duties as required.
Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:
  • ●Generate new leads by researching networking, cold calling, and prospecting.

  • ●Educate clients on the latest innovations within our industry.
  • ●Packaging experience preferred but not required.
  • ●Minimum of 2 years’ experience in new sales/business development.
  • ● Ability to use and create customer presentations, quotes, proposals, value logs, etc.
  • ●Ability to create and maintain strong relations with customers.
  • ●Ability to work independently, successfully manage accounts, work under pressure, and adapt to changes in the work environment is essential.
  • ●Basic experience of simple office / operational systems.
Work Experience:
  • ● 1-3 years of related job experience.
  • ● Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
  • ● Ability to work in a team environment.
  • ● Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
  • ● Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.
  • ● Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • ● Strong customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful).
Education:
  • ● High School Diploma Preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • ● A significant portion of the job responsibilities will require computer work that involves the continuous use of the fingers, hands, wrists, and sitting for long periods of time.
  • ● The position also requires frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.
  • ● The position requires work in an office as well as travel to customers, suppliers, group meetings, etc.
