Job summary

Builders FirstSource, America's largest supplier of building materials, provides a structured training path to prepare for promotion to Outside Sales. You'll rotate through yard operations, production, dispatch, and inside sales while learning industry knowledge and sales techniques.

Under supervision, you will accompany Outside Sales Reps on customer calls and may assist with inside sales tasks, take orders, and participate in activities like take-offs and processing orders as you prepare for

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing or related field with 0–2 years of related sales/operations experience.
• Willingness to rotate through yard operations, production, dispatch, delivery and inside sales.
• Ability to observe, learn, and apply sales techniques and customer service practices.

Responsibilities

• Receives training and performs progressively responsible duties in various areas such as yard operations, production, dispatch/scheduling/delivery, and inside sales while learning the outside sales role.
• Accompanies Outside Sales Reps or Sales Manager on customer calls to understand effective sales and customer service techniques.
• May be assigned inside sales/counter responsibilities, including answering phone, taking orders, and other tasks.
• May undertake Outside Sales responsibilities, including take-offs, order processing, obtaining signatures on tickets, and making sales calls to customers.

Role Summary

Under general supervision, develops industry‑specific knowledge and experience required for promotion to Outside Sales Representative role. May rotate through various departments observing, learning and performing responsibilities in order to acquire industry knowledge, functional processes and practices as well as sales techniques.

Responsibilities

• May be assigned various Outside Sales responsibilities, including but not limited to, performing take offs, taking and processing orders, obtaining signatures on tickets, making sales calls to new and existing customers.

Qualifications

Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing or related field plus 0 - 2 years related industry operations / sales; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
