POSITION SUMMARY ("What are we looking for?")
The Honest Kitchen is looking for a dynamic and experienced Regional Sales Director to lead our East Region sales team. In this key leadership role, you'll drive profitable growth across a portfolio of local, regional, and national pet retailers—including independently owned stores—while mentoring a high-performing team of Regional Sales Managers.
You’ll serve as a strategic leader, owning sales execution, distributor relationships, and regional planning—all while embodying our mission to deliver honest, human-grade food for pets. The Sales Team Manager will play a strategic role in developing and expanding the company’s footprint in the East Region (East of Mississippi), ensuring the achievement of business and revenue targets are obtained within the company budget. This position involves providing leadership, guidance, and support to a team of Regional Sales Managers while managing direct and distributor relationships. The Sales Team Manager will collaborate with the Vice President, Indy Sales & Natural, and other stakeholders to align sales objectives with THK’s overall business strategy.
SCOPE OF POSITION- Own Sales Growth: Deliver profitable growth across all account types—local, regional, national, and independent pet retailers.
- Lead Regional Sales Managers: Coach and support RSMs to succeed with growing distribution and sales across the Independent Pet customer base.
- Drive Business Planning: Create and implement business plans and promotional strategies; track execution with RSMs and distributor partners.
- Distributor & Account Management: Manage key regional distributors and accounts, lead regular business reviews, and report progress to VP, Indy Sales & Natural.
- Data-Driven Execution: Use sales data and CRM (Salesforce) tools to inform decision-making and optimize performance.
- Market Expansion: Secure new customers, expand product presence, and execute regional product launches and promotions.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure alignment with company KPIs (sales, EBITDA, mix, volume), provide accurate forecasting, and manage promotional tracking and billbacks.
- Team Leadership: Foster a high-performance, ethical sales culture through coaching, development, and accountability.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with Marketing, Operations, and Leadership to ensure successful regional execution of company strategies.
- Adapt & Lead Change: Support organizational change by identifying needs, championing initiatives, and removing barriers.
ADDITIONAL KEY ATTRIBUTES- Strategic Sales Leadership: Proven ability to manage high-performing remote sales teams and drive revenue through consultative selling.
- Financial Acumen: Skilled in P&L trade oversight, forecasting, budgeting, and negotiation.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (“What are we looking for?”)- BS/BA - College Degree • Minimum 5+ years of experience working in Sales or Business Development, including 3+ years in a managerial role.
- Strong written, presentation, and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Highly performance and results-driven and want to take on a high level of responsibility and work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time
- Must reside east of the Mississippi River, near a major airport to facilitate efficient travel
