Pay Range: $83,400.00 - $137,100.00

The Sales Specialist for the Western & Cellular Analysis sales team will be responsible for sales of Simple Western and Cellular Analysis instruments, related systems, and consumables within the assigned Southeast territory. As a Sales Specialist, you will develop and execute strategic plans for the portfolio to increase sales and grow market share in the territory.

This is a field-based sales role where you will support customers throughout the Southeast territory, which includes North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Florida. The ideal candidate will be based in North Carolina.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible to receive a commission plan and long-term incentive package of stock grants based on individual and company performance, in accordance with company policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Achieve sales targets through application of consultative selling methods.
  2. Maintain and develop incremental business in existing and new accounts.
  3. Work closely with the full Commercial Team to ensure we provide a coordinated approach to customers and promote all the solutions Bio-Techne can provide.
  4. Field sales located in the assigned territory and visiting customers 75% of the time.
  5. Familiar with standard scientific methods, techniques, reagents & equipment relevant to Bio-Techne’s product line.
  6. Provide accurate sales forecasts for both instruments and reagents in the Immunoassay Product Lines.
  7. Use SalesForce.com to manage all active leads, customers, and opportunities. Dashboards will be used to track progress and KPIs.
  8. Plan and execute account management to accomplish goals and follow company vision.
  9. Ensure that customers understand the value proposition, features & benefits, competitive advantages, and applications of all relevant products.

Job Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree (or advanced) in a science-related field required.
  2. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of sales experience in the Life Science tools space and with 2+ years selling in related market and space.
  3. High value capital equipment sales experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Understanding of customer workflows and the applications supported in research, development, and production of pharmaceutical drugs and biologics.
  2. Broad understanding of a variety of scientific techniques and research areas of interest (e.g., Western Blot, Flow Cytometry, ELISA, Sequencing, High-Value Capital Equipment).
  3. Knowledge of MS Office, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.
  4. Proficiency in executing value-based sales techniques, including prospecting, building relationships, and presenting tailored solutions.
  5. Strong negotiation and closing skills with a focus on understanding buyer needs and delivering customer-centric solutions.
  6. Ability to map key accounts, identify business potential, and execute territory business plans.
  7. Demonstrated interpersonal, presentation, and time & territory management skills.
  8. Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly in areas of negotiation, persuasion, and problem-solving.
  9. Knowledge of MS Office, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.com a plus.
  10. Ability to work with a high degree of independence; a self-starter.
  11. Capable and interested in working in a team environment.
  12. Highly motivated, independent, with a strong desire to succeed.
