Job summary

Eataly North America in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Front End Specialist to assist in daily cashier operations and front-end tasks. You will report to the Front End Manager and handle monetary transactions, cash reconciliation, customer inquiries, and online order fulfillment.

The role requires 2+ years in retail, strong math and cash handling skills, and proficiency with MS Office. Weekend availability and on-site work are required, with benefits including PTO and employee discounts.

Responsibilities

• Handle monetary transactions and cashier duties.

• Assist customers with product information and order timelines.
• Ensure accurate cash bank and end-of-shift reconciliation.

Job Description

TheFrontEndSpecialistassists in the day-to-dayFrontEndand cashier operations of the store.Reports to theFrontEndManager.

• Handles monetary transactions and performs advanced cashiering duties
• Approves voids, employee discounts, returns and exchanges
• Processes and settles daily cash and credit transactions
• Documents and communicates overages, shortages, sales data and technical or price discrepancies, communicating issues to the appropriate managers and departments
• Processes and monitors currency orders to ensure that cash is always available for transactions
• Performs other duties as required or assigned
• Oversees prompt and accurate fulfillment of online orders through platforms such as Instacart and Mercato
• Answers enquires about online orders and provides information on products
• Confirms and locks customers’ orders and communicates fulfillment timelines
• Handpicks items on customers’ lists; scans using a handheld mobile device; runs items through the checkout counter and pays for them through cash or credit/debit cards
• Collects cash, checks, or charge payments from guests and provides change and charge vouchers if needed
• Ensures accuracy of cash bank by counting cash, checks, and charge payments atendof shift
• Documents and communicates overages, shortages, sales data, price changes, and technical or price discrepancies, communicating issues to the appropriate managers and departments
• Orders and monitors inventory of supplies needed for theFrontEnd
• Returns carts and baskets to their central distribution areas, takes back go-backs/damages, fixes displays, and helps restock
• Does regular checks of inventory with Retail Department Heads to update digital platforms as needed

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a retail setting
• Ability to handle money accurately and perform mathematical calculations
• Intermediate computer skills including e-mail and Microsoft Office
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Job Requirements

• Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including weekends
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting

Compensation: Pay range is set from $18.50 - $19 an hour
