Sales Specialist, Automotive Aftermarket Division

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

You will be responsible for growing the Automotive Aftermarket Product Portfolio into adjacent markets including general and light industrial, aerospace, specialty vehicles, and other non-automotive collision-related spaces.

Achieves sales objectives by providing independent sales coverage of assigned accounts or within assigned territory. This role is intended for individuals experienced in sales who have demonstrated effective selling skills and consistently achieved or exceeded forecasts over time. The position primarily manages a sales territory with periodic supervision and assistance, requesting help when encountering unfamiliar or complex situations.

As an Adjacent Market Sales Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Leading sales efforts across all 3M brands/products into the adjacent market segments of the US Automotive Aftermarket Division
  • Implementing sales programs, plans, and policies as agreed with your supervisor
  • Determining priorities, call frequencies, and patterns for effective outreach
  • Supporting regional programs and initiatives
  • Creating business plans for end users and providing solutions to their problems
  • Tracking all activities in the 3M CRM system

Company Vehicle

This position requires driving a company vehicle, which involves pre-employment and ongoing review of your motor vehicle history.

Your Skills and Expertise

To succeed from day one, 3M requires at minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution with at least one year of sales and/or Automotive Aftermarket industry experience in a private, public, government, or military environment

OR

  • High School Diploma/GED with five years of sales and/or Automotive Aftermarket industry experience in a relevant environment

AND

  • Valid Driver’s License

Additional qualifications that could enhance your success include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Financial acumen
  • Technical expertise in Automotive and/or Collision industry
  • Relationship-building skills with a competitive spirit
  • Time management skills
  • Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM tools

Work location: Work Your Way Eligible (remote), specifically in North Carolina

Sales Territory: NC, SC, GA, VA, TN, MS

Travel: Up to 40% domestic travel

Relocation Assistance: May be provided

Legal Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the country without sponsorship
