Job Purpose:

The Sales and Service Branch Manager (Vancouver) will operate under the general supervision of the VP of Business Development. This role is responsible for overseeing and training administrative personnel while maintaining a skilled team of crane service technicians, sales engineers, and support staff in Vancouver to ensure the smooth operation of business activities.

The manager will focus on achieving operational excellence, ensuring customer satisfaction, and facilitating the safe and compliant execution of services, inspections, maintenance, and repairs. Additionally, they are tasked with building strong customer relationships, addressing service needs, and guaranteeing that all activities align with contractual requirements and expectations.

This position requires a leader with strong technical expertise, a commitment to process improvement, and the ability to balance the needs of customers, employees, and the business effectively.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee branch employees while emphasizing teamwork, customer responsiveness, integrity, profitable decision-making, and fostering a positive, safety-focused team environment.
  • Manage the personnel responsible for inspection, repair, and maintenance of cranes and other heavy equipment used in all forms of construction, agriculture, mining, logging, material handling, and other related industries
  • Oversee tool, vehicle, and equipment maintenance programs for the Vancouver branch assets.
  • Maintain company equipment service intervals and records, specialty tool calibration records, and certificates for the Vancouver branch assets.
  • Keep Inspectall accounts and service schedules for each of your employees up to date in Inspectall so that company-wide communication is streamlined.
  • Review and approve daily Inspectall reports that are ready for review by Spokane’s main branch.
  • Help close out reports and provide proper information and data to the main branch for customer billing purposes
  • Review incoming contracts and discuss them with the VP of Business Development before approving and returning them to customers signed.
  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with customers and vendors
  • Represent WEMCO’s brand positively while fostering customer loyalty
  • Develop sales/marketing action plans to maximize territory revenue
  • Identify sales opportunities and develop customer solutions
  • Recruit, qualify, interview, hire, train, and develop Service Center personnel
  • Ensure compliance with assigned contract requirements and reporting standards
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA and relevant industry standards for all office and field employees.
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to source parts, equipment, and services as needed
  • Assure diagnosis, scheduled repair work, and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
  • Address customer concerns and complaints promptly
  • Oversee department safety initiatives and certify adherence to safety procedures
  • Ensure all work orders are accurate and closed on a timely basis
  • Accountable for the department’s customer service, operating, and financial metrics
  • Ensure branch premises are protected and maintained
  • Facilitate informational meetings with branch team members
    • Daily / weekly / Quarterly
  • Effectively handle special assignments as directed

Job Requirements:

  • Three to five years of service management experience
  • Knowledge of the Crane Industry required
  • Must possess the necessary problem-solving skills to meet the needs of our customers, employees, and equipment suppliers
  • Must possess excellent people, organizational, and communication skills
  • Good computer proficiency, including Microsoft products and business systems
  • Knowledge of federal and state safety regulations and best practices of both shop and job site locations
  • Discretion in handling confidential and financial information;
  • Out-of-town overnight work may be required for sales and checking on the team’s in the field
    • Business travel by Air may be required as directed and approved by VP of Business Development.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
