Position Overview
The primary purpose of this position is to gain market share and increase the skylight category by influencing the trade and facilitating sales through key VELUX dealers. Responsibilities include developing, executing, and coordinating all sales efforts within a specified territory, interfacing with Dealers, Builders, Contractors, Remodelers, Roofers, and Architects. The role requires regularly identifying and soliciting new or expanded sales opportunities within the territory.
Primary Functions
- Developing and following a comprehensive annual territory plan to identify and pursue the greatest opportunities for sales growth.
- Prospecting for new business.
- Making sales presentations to promote VELUX products to dealers, builders, contractors, and architects.
- Training dealers, builders, contractors, and architects on the proper application and installation of VELUX products.
- Managing budgets to control expenses and maximize profitability.
- Assisting and training contractors with in-home selling efforts.
- Completing reports and analyses in a timely manner.
Secondary Functions
- Performing field service activities within the territory as needed.
- Traveling to assist other sales representatives, conduct training, or participate in trade shows.
Position Details
- Location: Remote, covering North Puget Sound, ideally living north of I-90 in Seattle.
- Salary: $5850 - $7315 per month, with possible geographic differential.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or trade school training preferred.
- Knowledge of the building industry is a plus.
- Sales experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office.
- Professional appearance and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to stay informed on industry trends and demonstrate customer focus.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, influence, and relationship management skills.
- Physical ability to lift/reach/stoop/climb over 50 lbs.
- Adherence to company rules, safety regulations, and policies.
