Job summary

HomeWorks Energy, Inc. is seeking a results-driven Home Energy Specialist for the Cape Cod region. This full-time outside sales role involves conducting Mass Save home energy assessments, modeling homes in energy efficiency software, and recommending insulation and high-efficiency HVAC upgrades.

You will visit customer sites, secure service contracts, and drive energy savings for homeowners. No cold calling; appointments provided.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Valid MA driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills.
• Ability to work independently in the field.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Mass Save home energy assessments.

Sales Representation (Home Energy Specialist)

Position Type: This is a full-time, sales exempt position. This position provides in-depth paid training when you begin your career here at HWE.

Compensation: This is a commission-based role with average earnings of $95,000 annually - top earners have potential to earn $250,000+ annually. Holiday and Paid time off are paid at $20 per hour.

This is an outside sales position that does not require cold calling (appointments will be provided to you). You will drive to customer appointments directly from your home. You will be required to report into your local office approximately once per week for team meetings. (Our offices are located in Sutton, Springfield, Woburn, Wareham, and Whitham. Our HQ is located in Charlestown).

This position is for our Cape Cod region specifically and will require doing most driving on the Cape itself.

Our next training class is scheduled to begin on January 11th. The training will take place mostly in Sutton for the first 2 weeks (with local in-field days mixed in, and virtual Fridays). Depending on your location, you can be eligible for gas reimbursement or hotel accommodations.

Job Summary:

The Home Energy Specialist is responsible for helping homeowners become more energy efficient by performing Mass Save Home Energy Assessments. This role will be modeling homes in energy efficiency software, diagnosing energy usage problems and recommending energy saving measures such as insulation, and high efficiency heating and cooling.

• Energy Assessment:
  • Conduct Mass Save home energy assessments.
  • Utilize energy efficiency software to model homes and generate comprehensive energy savings reports.
  • Recommend energy-saving measures such as insulation, LED lighting, and high-efficiency HVAC systems.
• Sales and Customer Service:
  • Initiate sale and secure service contracts.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and educate homeowners on energy efficiency benefits.
  • Use effective sales techniques to ensure customer satisfaction and generate referrals.
  • Organize and guide customer through paperwork processes.
• Installation and Documentation:
  • Install energy-saving products during assessments, including thermostats, water saving devices, and power strips.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and promptly.
  • Professional Development and Collaboration:
  • Continually improve product knowledge and sales skills through ongoing learning, including staying informed on the latest energy-saving options and technologies.
  • Collaborate with internal divisions to cross-sell products and services.
• Perform additional tasks as required.

Education & Experience:

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Valid MA driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel required.
• Previous customer service and sales experience preferred.
• MASS Save program knowledge a plus.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong organization and time management skills.
• Must work independently as the role is primarily field based.
• Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills.
• Outgoing, flexible, and personable demeanor.
• Requires proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.

Customer settings: This position is based in customer settings and will require work in and out of doors, including in attics, basements, small-confined spaces, and rooftops.

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, crawl, or kneel in confined spaces. The employee may be required to lift up to 60 pounds, and must be able to climb ladders, enter crawl spaces, stand on roofs, and move up and down stairs safely.
• This job requires travel in a personal vehicle.
