Sales Representative – Grand Junction, Colorado
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet websites, and other sources.
- Prepare regular planning and goals, as assigned by supervisor, including reports of business transactions and maintenance of a customer management profile.
- Maintain existing accounts and provide customer service in accordance with the company's customer‑service philosophy and standards.
- Travel throughout the assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, or talk with customers at the place of business or by phone.
- Sustain the minimum number of sales calls as determined by management.
- Display product using various point‑of‑sale items and emphasize sellable features.
- Quote prices correctly with reference to company pricing guidelines and prepare sales orders.
- Estimate delivery dates to customers based on knowledge of delivery schedules.
- Collaborate with administrative and operations teammates to assure the best service is provided to customers.
- Coordinate customer training and product promotions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts.
- Investigate and resolve customer issues related to deliveries, billing, and all other aspects of customer service.
- Attend regularly scheduled sales meetings, seminars, trade shows, and special events to represent the company and its brands.
Education and/or Experience
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Valid driver license
- Automobile insurance – $100 / $300 / $50 minimum limits of liability
Computer Skills
- Knowledge of SAP Business software, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
