Job summary

Impact Fire Services is seeking a Sales Representative Estimator to analyze project specifications, blueprints, and documentation to develop accurate cost estimates for fire alarm system installations, repairs, and upgrades.

The role requires deep knowledge of fire protection systems, NFPA standards, and local codes, plus strong math, communication, and collaboration with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure timely, competitive bids.

Qualifications

• Must have experience within fire protection system designing or estimating.
• CFPS certification is a plus.
• NICET certifications in fire alarm systems or related fire protection field preferred.
• Familiarity with NFPA Code read, interpret, and apply.
• Strong math skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working against deadlines and completing projects on time.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specs, and drawings to assess scope of fire sprinkler, alarm, or protection installations or modifications.
• Calculate material, labor, and equipment costs for projects.
• Prepare and present detailed proposals with labor, materials, and timeline breakdowns.
• Identify components, panels, devices, wires, and other materials per project specs and codes.
• Ensure designs and estimates match NFPA standards and local codes.
• Stay updated on changes in codes, materials, and trends.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for pricing on materials and equipment.
• Communicate with clients and contractors to clarify requirements and address questions.
• Collaborate with sales, operations, and design staff to interpret project specs.
• Produce timely, accurate estimates per fixed bid dates.
• Apply for permits and submittals.
• Produce status reports and participate in planning meetings.
• Enter data accurately into operating systems.
• Perform other duties as required.

The Sales Representative Estimator role is responsible for analyzing project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to develop accurate cost estimates for fire alarm system installations, repairs, and upgrades. This role requires a deep understanding of fire protection systems, industry standards, and local building codes, along with excellent analytical and communication skills to coordinate with clients, contractors, and project teams.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to assess the scope of fire sprinkler, fire alarm, fire suppression or fire protection system installations or modifications.
• Calculate material, labor, and equipment costs for the projects.
• Prepare and present detailed proposals, including breakdowns of labor, materials, and timeline estimates.
• Identify required components, panels, devices, wires,and other materials to ensure compliance with project specifications and codes.
• Ensure designs and estimates adhere to NFPA standards, local building codes, and fire safety regulations.
• Stay up to date on changes in codes, materials, and industry trends.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to obtain pricing for materials and equipment.
• Communicate with clients and contractors to clarify project requirements and address questions.
• Work with sales, operations, and design staff as needed to interpret project specifications.
• Produce timely and accurate estimates according to fixed bid dates/schedules.
• Apply for permits and submittals.
• Produce status reports and act as a key participant in planning meetings.
• Provide timely and accurate entries into operating systems.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Education/Qualification:

• Must have experience within fire protection system designing or estimating.
• CFPS certification (Certified Fire Protection Specialist) is a plus.
• NICET certifications in fire alarm systems or a related fire protection field preferred.
• Familiarity with and ability to read, interpret, and apply NFPA Code.
• Strong math skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working against deadlines and an excellent track record of completing projects on time.
