Job Summary:
As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for originating new leads, gathering key project information, and nurturing prospects through the sales process. This role is ideal for someone with a self-starter attitude, strong communication skills, and a passion for renewable energy. Other job duties may be assigned as business necessitates.
Essential Functions:
Lead Generation:
- Identify and contact potential commercial and industrial clients (e.g., agriculture, manufacturing, and warehousing sectors).
- Network and build relationships with decision-makers and stakeholders.
Utility Data Collection:
- Obtain necessary utility data (e.g., electric bills, energy usage history) from prospects to support project evaluation and design.
- Educate prospects on the importance of providing accurate utility data for solar feasibility studies.
Site Surveys:
- Conduct on-site assessments to gather critical information about the property and its electrical infrastructure, including:
- Voltage requirements
- Electrical switchgear details (size, type, condition)
- Available space for solar arrays and interconnection equipment
- Document findings and share with the design and engineering team.
Account Nurturing:
- Maintain regular communication with prospects and clients throughout the sales process.
- Address questions, overcome objections, and provide clear, professional guidance to prospects.
Collaboration with Internal Teams:
- Coordinate with JKB’s engineering and design team to ensure project requirements are met.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the client and JKB during the sales cycle.
Reporting and CRM Management:
- Record and track all lead and account activity in JKB’s CRM system.
- Provide updates to management on progress and sales pipeline status.
Job skills and abilities:
- Proven sales experience, preferably in solar, renewable energy, or a technical field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- Technical aptitude to understand and explain basic solar system components and requirements (training will be provided).
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting utility bills (preferred).
- Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to manage multiple leads and accounts simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel locally for site surveys and client meetings.
- Reliable access to transportation and basic tools for site assessments (e.g., smartphone, measuring tape, camera).
Education and/or experience:
- Four-year College Degree (preferred)
- Solar sales experience (preferred)
