Job summary

Alfa Insurance sales representatives are team players who take exceptional pride in the company they represent, the products they sell, and the customer service they provide. Representatives assist the agent in performing the sales and administrative functions necessary to serve existing customers while actively working to grow the agency's business.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Alabama Insurance Producer License is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
• Ability to quickly learn new computer systems, programs and procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and customer service skills.
• Positive, professional attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prospect for new business across multiple insurance lines, prepare quotes, bind policies and grow the agency.
• Handle customer inquiries, document requests, process policy changes, and accept and process premium payments.
• Provide exceptional service through in-person interactions, phone, email and other platforms.
• Demonstrate strong conflict-resolution skills and respond professionally to customer concerns.
• Evaluate applicant insurability and determine appropriate coverage placement per underwriting guidelines.
• Assist the agent and Alfa service center staff to ensure efficient daily operations.
• Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, manage documentation and mail distribution.
• Learn new computer programs, procedures and processes in a fast-paced environment.

Employment Information

Many Alfa Insurance agents are independent contractors and are not employees of Alfa Insurance. Staff employed by independent contractor agents are employees of the individual agency, not Alfa Insurance Companies.

Responsibilities

• Insurance Sales: Prospect for new business across multiple insurance lines, prepare quotes, bind policies, and identify opportunities to grow the agency.
• Customer Service: Handle customer inquiries, document requests, process policy changes, and accept and process premium payments.
• Communication: Provide exceptional service through in-person interactions, phone calls, email, and other communication platforms.
• Problem-Solving: Demonstrate strong conflict-resolution skills and the ability to respond professionally to customer concerns.
• Underwriting Support: Evaluate applicant insurability and determine appropriate coverage placement in accordance with underwriting guidelines and binding authority.
• Agency Support: Assist the agent and Alfa service center staff as needed to ensure efficient daily operations.
• Administrative Responsibilities: Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, manage documentation, and handle correspondence and mail distribution.
• Adaptability: Learn new computer programs, procedures, and processes while working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
