JOB SUMMARY:

The Rare Disease Specialist will market BioCryst products to customers in the San Francisco area, ensuring compliance. #LI-Remote

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Engage in impactful conversations with customers, using effective and compliant selling techniques to promote products.
  2. Develop a thorough understanding of key customers.
  3. Create and maintain an active customer database.
  4. Utilize marketing materials and programs effectively.
  5. Master key account management.
  6. Develop strategic business plans with appropriate resource allocation.
  7. Build strong relationships with decision makers and opinion leaders.
  8. Coordinate promotional programs within regulatory guidelines.
  9. Conduct field activities like lunch and learns, in-services, and other compliant interactions.
  10. Complete expense and administrative reports accurately and promptly.
  11. Report call information timely.
  12. Attend training, conferences, and symposia as needed.
  13. Focus on sales results with accountability and urgency.
  14. Collaborate internally and externally for success.
  15. Share best practices and proactively utilize resources.
  16. Follow all compliance guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 5 years of pharmaceutical or biotech sales experience.
  • Experience in Rare Disease and small companies preferred.
  • Existing relationships in the assigned geography are advantageous.
  • Proven success exceeding sales goals, including awards like President’s Club.
  • Experience as the sole salesperson in a territory.
  • Strong rare disease sales skills and results.
  • Knowledge of relevant diseases and treatments.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong business and analytical skills.
  • Ability to innovate, work independently and in teams.
  • Quickly assimilate complex information.
  • Knowledge of reimbursement processes.
  • Knowledge of the territory.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean record.
  • Willingness to travel as needed, including overnight/weekend trips.
