Job Summary

The Rare Disease Specialist will market BioCryst products to customers in the Cleveland, OH area, ensuring compliance. #LI-Remote

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Engage in impactful conversations with customers, using compliant selling techniques to promote demand for assigned brands.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of key customers and maintain an active customer database.
  • Create and utilize marketing strategies and materials effectively.
  • Master key account management and develop strategic business plans linked to strong results.
  • Build and foster strong relationships with decision makers and opinion leaders.
  • Coordinate promotional programs within regulatory guidelines.
  • Conduct field activities like lunch and learns, customer in-services, and other compliant interactions.
  • Complete administrative reports accurately and promptly, including expense reports and call reports.
  • Attend training, conferences, and symposia as required.
  • Focus on achieving sales goals through personal accountability and a sense of urgency.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactively share best practices and utilize resources to meet or exceed business objectives.
  • Adhere to all company compliance policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience & Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of pharmaceutical or biotech sales experience.
  • Experience in Rare Disease and small company environments preferred.
  • Existing relationships with key accounts in the assigned region are advantageous.
  • Proven success in exceeding sales targets, including recognition such as President’s Club.
  • Experience as the sole salesperson in a territory, demonstrating independent selling skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant disease states, treatments, and reimbursement processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong analytical and business skills.
  • Ability to innovate, work independently, and collaborate in teams.
  • Ability to quickly understand complex information.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record and willingness to travel as needed.
