POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sales Outfitter - Firearms is responsible for maintaining Counter Sales and Customer Service for Firearms, along with Floor and Counter Sales of other Hunting Merchandise. They perform various selling/customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging all customers promptly and friendly, handling merchandise with care, and providing information, assistance, and direction to customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supports a strong commitment to world-class customer service and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers. Provides a legendary experience for every customer by assisting in making buying decisions through:
- Identifying and evaluating customers’ needs,
- Making product recommendations based on this analysis,
- Promoting programs including, but not limited to, CLUB membership, VOC, and in-store pickup.
- Ensures 4473 Forms are completed thoroughly and accurately.
- Demonstrates product knowledge to customers.
- Organizes and maintains merchandise within the retail store for sales at the gun counter.
- Replenishes product on shelves as required per merchandising guidelines.
- Remains knowledgeable about products through ongoing training.
- Maintains awareness of advertised sales, pricing, and signage.
- Assists with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
- Keeps work area clean, neat, and well-stocked.
- Follows all company policies and procedures.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 0-2 years of retail experience.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Product knowledge of firearms and ammunition.
- Knowledge of ATF federal and state regulations.
- Customer service and sales experience with firearms and ammunition.
- Knowledge of GCA regulations.
- Ability to merchandise and stock merchandise.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Constant standing and/or walking during shifts.
- Occasional use of ladders, stairs, ramps.
- Frequent communication with others.
- Occasional repetitive motions of wrists, hands, fingers.
- Occasional operation of machinery or power tools.
- Occasional operation of motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
- Light work involving moving objects up to 20 pounds constantly, and occasionally up to 100 pounds with team lift.
- Occasional work in tight spaces and noisy environments.
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
- Performs tasks under general supervision, using established procedures and some innovation. Resolves problems with limited alternatives, and makes recommendations for work procedures, policies, and practices.
