Imperial Trading Co., LLC is looking for a highly motivated and skilled Sales Merchandiser to join the New Orleans, LA Team! The Sales Merchandiser plays a crucial role in driving sales and enhancing the visibility of our products in the wholesale trade industry. This position is responsible for executing merchandising strategies that align with company goals, ensuring that our merchandise is presented effectively to maximize customer engagement. The Sales Merchandiser will collaborate with sales teams to launch new items and manage inventory levels, ensuring that stock is available and well-displayed. Additionally, this role involves analyzing sales data and forecasting trends to optimize product placement and inventory management. Ultimately, the Sales Merchandiser contributes to the overall success of the company by fostering strong customer relationships and enhancing the shopping experience. SUMMARY OF DUTIES: A Sales Merchandiser proactively executes retail business directives, maintains in-store conditions to standards and resolves issues at store level in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support sales by executing in-store directives and timely communication in the resolution of issues and/or identification of opportunities.
  • Must be available to occasionally travel overnight (average 40/50 nights per year).
  • Set and reset merchandise in store to match the authorized layout (Plan O Gram) provided by the Store owner/Manager or Merchandising Manager.
  • Perform basic merchandising duties including timely updating store order tags, replacing worn pegs, stripping, and channel strips; maintain adequate inventory of merchandising supplies and tools.
  • Assemble or breakdown, install and determine proper placement for racks and store fixtures.
  • Drive truck, unload and unpack merchandise into the store.
  • Maintain proper merchandising and shelf labeling in existing accounts.
  • Maximize sales and profit objectives by timely execution of in-store directives.
  • Identify potential new customers via regular and timely qualified referrals to the business development team.
  • Report needs and changes in the marketplace to Sales Support Manager and Business Development personnel.
  • Attend sales support meetings and specified company functions.
  • Own/lease a reliable vehicle and maintain company-required level of insurance for executing duties.
  • Report to work, meetings, and scheduled business affairs on time.
Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this job include light physical activity performing somewhat strenuous activities. The employee must regularly stand, walk, sit, talk, or hear, use hands to touch, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee must occasionally work in outdoor weather conditions and in wet, humid conditions. The noise level of the work environment is moderate.
