Memphis (Hybrid) or Remote (For remote positions, Global Cellulose Fibers will consider residents of the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, Massachusetts, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia and Washington.)

Overview

The Sales Manager – North America is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of Absorbent Hygiene and select customers across the North American region. The role is primarily focused on strategic account management, profitability, volume stability, and mix optimization, with selective responsibility for new business development.

Responsibilities
  • This role manages a portfolio weighted toward complex, strategic customer relationships, with exposure to both multi-site and single-site accounts.
  • Your responsibilities will include sales of Fluff and Papergrade pulps throughout the territory with a primary focus on Absorbent Hygiene converters. You will defend and strengthen our leading segment position, partner with the right customers for growth, and optimize product mix and service offerings while addressing value and cost drivers.
  • This position is well suited for a sales professional who excels at managing complex B2B customer relationships and partnering cross-functionally to deliver commercial results.
  • The channels will mainly be direct but may require the use or coordination of selling agents, with all sales being B2B.
  • A foundational understanding of supply chain concepts, including logistics, inventory, and commercial economics, is expected.
  • While the role is primarily North America–focused, the individual will maintain awareness of global pulp market dynamics and collaborate with global stakeholders as needed.
  • An ongoing focus on commercial discipline, margin awareness, and operational effectiveness is essential. You will work with and across multiple business and functional partners in different geographies to deliver customer and business outcomes.
  • Travel: Approximately 30–50%, primarily domestic with limited international travel.
Key Accountabilities
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of Absorbent Hygiene and select customers across North America.
  • Drive account strategies that support volume stability, profitability, and long-term customer partnerships.
  • Develop and execute customer and account plans aligned with volume, price, mix, and service objectives.
  • Support and assist in managing multinational customer relationships in partnership with global account teams, where applicable.
  • Manage day-to-day commercial activities, including forecasting, pricing support, and contract execution.
  • Identify and pursue selective new business opportunities aligned with portfolio and growth priorities.
  • Partner with internal teams including Customer Value, Product Portfolio, Supply Chain, Marketing, Sustainability, Innovation, Technical Service, and Manufacturing to meet customer and business objectives.
  • Maintain accurate forecasts, annual volume outlooks, and monthly demand projections.
  • Collaborate with Credit and Finance teams to manage customer credit risk and receivables.
  • Monitor market conditions, customer activity, and competitive dynamics and communicate internally.
  • Facilitate processing of customer issues, complaints, and credits in partnership with Customer Service.
About You: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required

  • Solid B2B commercial/team sales experience, presents well and polished
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Marketing, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of B2B sales or account management experience in industrial, commodity, materials, chemicals, or closely related markets
  • Experience managing complex customer relationships and commercial negotiations
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to articulate value propositions and influence stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functional teams

Preferred

  • Experience in absorbent hygiene, pulp, tissue, or adjacent industries
  • Exposure to multinational customers or global market environments
  • Working knowledge of supply chain concepts and transactional sales economics
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen, including margin awareness and understanding of contract and pricing economics.
