Job description

An established manufacturing company specializing in technical product lines is seeking a Sales Manager to lead, direct, and coordinate the company’s sales and marketing activities.

The role includes managing quoting, market research, promotions, and application engineering functions. The Sales Manager will evaluate the effectiveness of current strategies and implement initiatives to drive revenue, margins, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor strategic sales and marketing plans aligned with company goals.
  • Lead quoting efforts and oversee the technical quoting process for business-to-business sales of high-precision technical products.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to align new product development with sales objectives.
  • Generate and maintain sales forecasts, budgets, financial reporting, and strategic planning.
  • Manage and grow existing customer relationships while identifying and acquiring new business opportunities.
  • Coordinate and participate in exhibitions, seminars, and trade fairs.
  • Develop and implement various selling strategies depending on the target markets.
  • Hire, develop, and manage sales personnel as needed to support growth initiatives.
  • Monitor sales schedules and forecasts to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual goals.
  • Provide regular reporting, including call reports, activity reports, and marketing updates.
  • Maintain and develop a computerized database of customers and prospects.
  • Analyze revenue budget performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Negotiate and close key client contracts and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Promote new business regionally, nationally, and internationally.
  • Work closely with management to report on market trends, industry developments, and competitor activity.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical sales, preferably within manufacturing or CNC.
  • Proven experience with technical quoting and business development.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Exceptional communication skills — both written and verbal — including strong presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
