Sun Tan City is seeking a Salon Director in Training to drive store performance, champion client service, and uphold operational excellence. You will supervise Tanning Consultants, coach team members, and lead by example to achieve productivity goals and exceptional client experiences.

The role emphasizes leadership, coaching, and effective supervision in a fast-paced salon setting with occasional night/weekend hours and a 5-day week.

Qualifications

• Management and/or Sales experience required.
• Basic computer skills with Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong leadership with coaching and mentoring abilities.
• Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage daily operations of the salon in a fast-paced environment.
• Lead by example to create a client-centric experience and meet personal sales expectations.
• Maintain a clean, professional salon environment.
• Set clear goals for Team Members and provide coaching and feedback.
• Generate sales reports, manage inventory, and support Salon Director tasks.
• Help control top-line revenue and expenses; assist with staffing and labor costs.
• Work nights and weekends; 5-day workweek with 35–45 hours weekly depending on status.

The Salon Director in Training fosters a sense of urgency to achieve objectives and holds the team accountable for delivering an exceptional client experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage daily operations of the salon in a fast-paced environment.
• Lead by example in all company operations including creating a client-centric experience and meeting personal sales expectations.
• Maintain a professional and impeccably clean salon environment.
• Establish clear goals and objectives for Team Members.
• Provide coaching, training, and feedback to improve Team Members’ daily performance.
• Generate sales reports, maintain inventory, and assist with other Salon Director functions.
• Assist the Salon Director in controlling top line revenue and expenses.
• Help maintain proper staffing levels to ensure maximum productivity and excellent customer service while also controlling labor costs.
• Ability to work nights & weekends.
• Ability to work a 5-day workweek with approximately 35 to 45 hours per week depending on hourly or salary status.

Experience

• Management and/or Sales experience required.
• Beauty Industry and/or Customer Service experience preferred.
• Basic Computer skills (ability to use Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple situations simultaneously.
• Knowledge of client service techniques and operational practices.
• Problem-solving and organizational/planning skills.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach and mentor.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to bend at the waist to clean tanning equipment.
• Ability to lift or assist in lifting items and heavy boxes.
• Ability to bend down to pick up trash, towels, etc. from the floors.
• Ability to perform salon cleaning functions including dusting, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, etc.
