Job summary

DKN HOTEL GROUP is seeking an experienced Hospitality Sales professional to grow hotel business in the San Diego market. You will solicit new accounts, maintain guest relationships and coordinate with internal teams.

This on-site role requires at least three years of hospitality sales experience, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple accounts and schedules in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests.
• Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
• Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication.
• Prepare correspondence to customers, internal booking reports and file maintenance.
• Participate in daily business review meeting, pre-convention meetings, training and other catering sales related meetings as required.
• Work with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to customers.
• Attend community/social events and industry meetings.
• Develop/maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers.
• Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
• Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
• Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with hotel rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel’s facilities.
• Professionally represent the hotel at all industry/community functions.
• Participate as a team player with all departments.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

Frequently within the guidelines established by management and to the extent of operating within the Company policies and procedures.

Working Conditions / Environment

Entire interior and exterior of the entire property. Meeting spaces.

Qualifications

Minimum of three years of hospitality sales experience required. Local market knowledge preferred.

Skills / Abilities / Other Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to achieve sales goals, experience at a similar size and quality hotel, proactive sales approach; assertive and fast-paced, driven to succeed, track record of developing long term relationships, ability to quickly, evaluate alternatives and decide on a plan of action.
• Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of various cultural social events including, but not limited to weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs and fraternal organization meetings.
• Dependable.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Knowledge of DELPHI.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends.

Physical Requirements

Frequent standing, sitting, walking and climbing stairs. Repetitive bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying. Reaching above, at and below shoulder level. Lifting and carrying unassisted up to 50 lbs.
