Position Overview:
Candlewood Suites Lawrenceville-Princeton is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and relationship-driven Sales Manager to lead our business development efforts. This key role focuses on generating long-term, repeat business by building strong connections within the community, driving extended stay business, and maximizing revenue through proactive sales strategies.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who understands extended-stay hospitality, has a passion for local outreach, and excels in converting leads into lasting partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Generation & Business Development:
- Proactively canvas the local market to identify long-term stay opportunities with corporations, hospitals, universities, contractors, and relocation companies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local organizations to drive repeat business.
- Respond promptly to all inbound sales leads, qualify prospects, conduct site tours, and close business opportunities.
- Set up, negotiate, and manage Local Negotiated Rates (LNRs) to ensure consistent base business.
Group & Account Management:
- Prepare proposals, RFP responses, and related booking documentation in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage incoming group opportunities, including group room blocks and contracts.
- Use competitive market knowledge to position the property effectively and close high-value deals.
Revenue Support & Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with operations, front office, and revenue management to deliver on client expectations and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Participate in weekly sales strategy meetings and contribute to the creation of the annual sales and marketing plan.
- Develop and implement localized promotions and outreach initiatives to enhance occupancy and overall hotel revenue.
- Monitor and report on sales goals, lead conversions, and market trends.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of hotel sales experience, with a preference for extended stay and/or group business.
- Knowledge of sales tools, CRM systems, and hotel revenue strategies.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and enthusiasm for hospitality.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required to effectively canvass the local area and attend off-site meetings and events.
