Position Overview

We’re seeking a dynamic, relationship-driven Sales Manager to lead and grow our advertising partnerships. In this client-facing role, you’ll be responsible for securing advertising sales, managing client relationships, overseeing contracts, and ensuring the successful execution of campaigns. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the voice and reach of a beloved local publication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sell print and digital advertising across all magazine platforms to local businesses
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients through in-person meetings, calls, and emails
  • Understand clients' needs and tailor marketing solutions to meet their business goals
  • Prepare proposals, negotiate rates, and manage all aspects of the sales process from pitch to signed contract
  • Coordinate closely with editorial and design teams to ensure seamless ad placement and campaign delivery
  • Track and manage sales pipeline, renewals, and deadlines to meet revenue goals
  • Represent the magazine at community events, networking opportunities, and client meetings

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of sales experience (media sales or marketing/advertising experience a plus)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to build client relationships and manage expectations
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-through
  • Confidence in negotiating, closing deals, and handling contract logistics
  • Passion for community-driven storytelling and the power of local media
  • Someone local to the Decatur, GA area
