Job summary

Longwood Venues + Destinations is seeking a Sales Manager to drive event sales from lead to booking. You will work with the Event department for planning and day-of execution, while actively pursuing new and repeat client opportunities and responding promptly to inquiries.

You will manage proposals, negotiate contracts, and present compelling site fees and packages, including F&B and AV offerings. A strong hospitality background and proven deal closure are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-3 years of Hospitality experience in a hotel, convention, or private event venue.
  • Experience in selling over 2 Million in annual revenues preferred.
  • Experience in selling multiple market segments - weddings, nonprofit and corporate events preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on lead, touring and booking of events; liaise with Event department for planning and day-of execution.
  • Manage leads from Longwood-provided sources; pursue repeat, lost, and new clients.
  • Prepare timely and accurate proposals, negotiate contracts and site fees to maximize revenues.
  • Schedule and conduct venue tours; maintain professional appearance and conduct during tours.

DIRECT SUPERVISOR

Director of Sales

Base + Commissions

Average commission 20,000-38,000/annually

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Sales Managers focus solely on the lead, touring and booking of events; the event is turned over to an Event department for planning and day of execution.
Leads
  • Longwood provides leads through the website. Sales managers are in lead rotation 5 days per week.
  • Sales Managers must also proactively pursue repeat client, lost client and new client leads.
  • Handling inquiries according to all Longwood Standards (SOPs)- Response time, Intros, Accurate usage of software systems
  • Greeting all business opportunities with enthusiasm and drive to sell
  • Exemplify excellent negotiating skills to strategically contract event minimum and site fee to maximize revenues
  • Thoroughly understand value of our products and services- F&B Menus, AV List, Site fees, Ceremony fee & In-house equipment
  • Create timely and accurate proposals for the client; listen to their needs and balance with our availability
  • Build long-lasting business relationships with key accounts, clients, and planners to gain direct repeat business
  • Understand core market segments
Tours
  • Schedule tours of the venue that are convenient for the clients and not during another event
  • Maintain professional appearance and arrival to conduct venue tours
  • Conducting venue tours for prospective clients follow all Longwood touring standards to showcase the venues
  • Knowledgeable on competitive set - Features, Pricing and Offering vs ours, we do not speak negatively.
Contracts and Proposals
  • Create proposals based on clients’ needs and balanced with Longwood standards on successful events.
  • Create, sign, and send Contracts on Longwood’s behalf; Sales Managers are authorized to sign their own contracts.
  • As an authorized signer, understanding legally binding terms and conditions and contractual clauses is essential.
  • Reviewing contract clauses and questions with clients; addressing any requested contract changes.
  • Familiarity with each market segment and the potential contractual concerns.
  • Maintain accurate client information and bookings through Longwood Standard software programs
Goals
  • Reaching and exceeding monthly/quarterly/annual sales revenue goals
  • Sales Incentives are un-capped and paid monthly.
POSITION EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 1-3 years of Hospitality experience in a hotel, convention, or private event venue
  • Experience in Selling over 2 Million in annual revenues preferred
  • Experience in Selling multiple Market segments - weddings, nonprofit and corporate events preferred
LONGWOOD REQUIREMENTS
  • Proficient in Computer skills – Microsoft Office
  • Require availability to work flexible hours and weekends
  • Exceptional organizational, multi-tasking, written & verbal communication skills
  • Collaborate with all departments and foster team environment
