Job summary

Stein's Garden & Home in Wauwatosa, WI is seeking an Associate- Live Goods to support customers and team members in a bustling garden and home décor retail environment.

You will greet customers, assess needs, assist with product selection, and help maintain appealing displays while working across departments and operating the POS system.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly to make the customers feel welcomed within the retail location.
• Develop and maintain a professional and courteous relationship with customers and co-workers.
• Assist customers, determine their needs and educate customers to help select the right selections.
• Assist the management team in merchandising and operational procedures.
• Follow management direction in completing other duties as required.
• Ensure merchandise stock levels, quality and presentation.
• Ensure signage is current and displayed properly.
• Stock and rotate products according to the company’s direction.
• Ability to be cross trained across multiple departments.
• Operate the POS quickly and accurately, scan items, accept payment, provide receipts and bag merchandise.
• Conceptualize ideas for floral decorations and home décor displays.
• Clean fixtures, shelves, backrooms, bathrooms, and floors as directed.
• Participate in learning and development activities.

Summary:

The position requires enthusiasm to provide customers with exceptional customer experience by building relationships with customers. All associates assist the management team to provide leadership, enthusiasm and integrity to drive the company’s Mission, Vision and Values. Candidates must be team players, enjoy selling, have excellent communication skills and perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

• Greet customers promptly to make the customers feel welcomed within the retail location.

• Participate in learning and development activities such as meetings, product knowledge meetings, and 1-on-1 interactions.
