Job description

This is 4 days onsite in Williamsburg, Brooklyn***

Our client is disrupting the Independent hotel space. It's time to get rid of scattered software, outside agencies, spreadsheets and manual work. Most independent hotel owners can’t afford a marketing team, so revenue leaks through every gap.

Our client is a seed, leaning towards Series A feel, AI-native operating system for independent hotels with a 30-50M valuation. AI agents take over the manual work owners have no time or team for, starting with what drives revenue: digital marketing, pricing, email, reputation and direct bookings.

The model works! In less than a year of operations, the company has grown to more than 150 customers, with no inbound marketing. Every customer came from outbound, and 85–90% of sales calls convert, usually in a single conversation. The company is lean, fast paved, supportive, kind, humble and disrupting. Today the founder runs sales and she's looking for a strategic leader to take over and soon build a team to oversee.

What Winning Looks Like

You start as the company’s best closer and become its sales leader.

In the first months, most of your time goes to conversations with hotel owners. You run 30–45 minute calls that often close on the spot, sometimes even without a demo. Through those calls, you learn what makes a hotel a strong fit, where objections come from, and which segments are pulling.

You turn those lessons into the system: a playbook, qualification criteria, a forecast, and a weekly operating rhythm. You start with one GTM associate who runs outbound and books your calls. As the motion proves out, you hire the AEs who sell inside the system you built, and you own the team’s number.

You work directly with the founder and are the voice of the market inside the company.

What You’ll Own
  • Closing. You carry a personal number (until an AE team is built out) and close independent hotels across the US, Canada and Australia, from first conversation to signed onboarding. You are not sourcing, they have a GTM associate that does well.
  • The playbook. You turn hundreds of conversations into a repeatable system: messaging by segment, qualification, objection handling, follow-up and handoff to onboarding.
  • Qualification. You define what a strong-fit hotel looks like. The company earns only when customers earn, so fit matters as much as closing.
  • Pipeline and forecasting. You own pipeline hygiene, forecasting and the weekly rhythm, and you know where the number is coming from and why.
  • Top of funnel. You manage the GTM associate and partner on outbound messaging, lead quality and sequence performance.
  • The team. You scope, recruit, onboard and coach the AEs who come next, set targets, and hold the team to them.
  • Market insight. You bring structured insight to the founder and product: recurring objections, segment differences, pricing signals and competitive moves.
  • AI leverage. You build a sales operation where research, prep, follow-up and admin are automated, so people spend their time selling.
The Buyer

Owners and operators of independent properties under 150 rooms. Most aren’t technical, and many are just starting to use AI tools. The best fit hotels have no in house marketing team, so the platform adds capabilities they’ve never had rather than replacing anyone. Selling here means earning trust quickly, explaining things simply, and never overselling.

What This Requires
  • Sales experience. 3–10 years in sales, including a strong record in short-cycle, high-volume selling. Software sales is a huge plus but not required; digital marketing, MarTech and other high-velocity backgrounds are welcome.
  • Leadership. You’ve led, coached or onboarded others, formally or informally, and they got better because of you.
  • Consultative selling. You lead with questions, listen well, and know when to walk away. Pressure tactics aren’t how you win.
  • Calibrated confidence. Your confidence is backed by substance. You’re comfortable saying “I don’t know yet,” and you adjust quickly. You ask questions, don't assume.
  • Energy and judgment. You’re personable, sharp and quick to build rapport with owner-operators.
  • Systems thinking. You think in segments, conversion rates and capacity, and in what to change to move each one.
  • Organization. You’re unusually organized, resourceful and accountable for outcomes.
  • Learning speed. You learn a new market fast and can point to a time you did.
  • Hours. You’re flexible on schedule; Australian customers mean some evening calls.
  • Commitment. You want to own both a number and a function.
Preferred, Not Required
  • Hospitality, e-commerce or digital marketing experience
  • Experience with independent hotels or short-term rental operators
  • Vertical SaaS sold to owner-operated businesses
  • Early-stage startup experience
  • Spanish fluency
The Environment

The culture is high-performance and low-ego: humble, collaborative, kind and supportive.

The team works with a modern, AI-native stack, including Clay, custom data enrichment, automated outbound sequencing, and AI call notes through Granola and Fireflies. Prior experience with these tools isn’t needed.
