The Key Account Manager is a high-profile sales role, acting as a senior representative to drive high-impact, complex accounts. You will build and maintain relationships with key buyers, understand their goals, identify opportunities, and develop proposals to meet those goals. You will develop and execute globally aligned account strategies to deliver sales growth, profitability, and strategic objectives.

You will collaborate with product, regional marketing, and sales enablement teams to drive sales growth. You will matrix-manage a regional cross-functional support team to deliver exceptional customer experiences and share best practices for scaling.

This position is based in Western Pennsylvania or Ohio, reporting to the Sales Director, and can be fully remote.

In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To
  • Develop and maintain peer relationships with key influencers and decision-makers to enhance corporate relationships, maximize revenue, and increase market share.
  • Develop and execute strategic multi-year account plans to build alliances and maximize share of wallet across Abcam’s portfolio.
  • Coordinate internal resources to provide comprehensive solutions that meet value drivers and delight customers.
  • Drive customer-centric solutions positioning Abcam and Danaher as critical partners.
  • Maintain market and competitor awareness, effectively communicate customer feedback internally to improve products, pricing, and positioning.
The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include
  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field, with five or more years of field sales and account management experience, ideally regionally.
  • Ability to discuss antibody-based applications, proteomics, reagents, and protein solutions with top-tier customers and translate into business opportunities.
  • Proven success in sales/business with above-market growth in key accounts valued at $1M+.
  • Solid understanding of the biopharma and academic life science markets. Experience supporting large research institutions like Cleveland Clinic is preferred.
  • Must reside in Western PA or Cleveland, Ohio, and be within driving distance of customers.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements
  • Ability to travel as required with a valid driver’s license.

Preferred additional qualifications include a Life Sciences or related PhD, MS, or MBA, and experience with sales tools and CRM systems.

This role offers flexible remote work options, with details provided during the interview process. The salary range is $130,000-$160,000, potentially including bonuses/incentives. Benefits include paid time off, insurance, and 401(k).
