What You Will Do

All Lowe’s associates deliver quality customer service while maintaining a store that is clean, safe, and stocked with the products our customers need. As a Sales Floor Department Supervisor, this means:

  1. Providing resources and tools to support those directly helping customers provide the best service.
  2. Assisting with down stocking and area recovery as well as providing input into merchandising decisions.
  3. Monitoring use of store power equipment and coaching employees on safe behaviors and lifting techniques.
Additional Responsibilities

The Sales Floor Department Supervisor is primarily responsible for leading and enabling a team of associates to deliver the best possible customer experience in the store. This includes coaching and training associates, delegating, following-up on daily tasks, managing performance, and ensuring adequate department coverage. Responsibilities also include:

  • Customer-facing activities such as greeting customers, clarifying needs, identifying solutions, and closing sales.
  • Non-customer-facing activities like down stocking, inventory management, and area recovery.
  • Store safety, including conducting safety walks, reporting hazards, and understanding safety and lifting directions.

The role involves working with leadership to identify and communicate best practices to motivate customer-focused behavior and achieve sales and service goals. The supervisor may also oversee associates in other departments as needed, requiring broad product knowledge and cross-departmental engagement. Communication with management about concerns, issues, and morale is essential.

Occasionally, the role may require opening or closing the store or serving as manager-on-duty (MOD).

Travel Requirements

This role does not require regular travel but may occasionally involve travel for meetings, training, or supporting neighboring stores.

What We're Looking For
  • Hourly Full Time: Generally scheduled 39 to 40 hours; additional hours may be required.
  • Availability across mornings, afternoons, and evenings any day of the week.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks involving prolonged standing, sitting, and lifting (minimum 25 pounds).
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of retail experience OR 5 years of retail experience.
  • At least 1 year of customer service experience.
  • At least 1 year supporting Pro customers (for Pro Department Supervisor).
  • Experience leading and supporting teams, training, mentoring, and working cross-functionally.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to obtain relevant sales licensure if required by law.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of retail customer service and supporting Pro customers.
  • Leadership experience with direct report responsibilities.
  • Experience in home improvement retail and fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with store computer systems like Project Tool, Genesis, Sterling, M2O, Thin Client.
