All Lowe’s associates deliver quality customer service while maintaining a store that is clean, safe, and stocked with the products our customers need. As a Sales Floor Department Supervisor, this means:

  • Providing resources and tools to support those directly helping customers provide the best service.
  • Assisting with down stocking and area recovery as well as providing input into merchandising decisions.
  • Monitoring use of store power equipment and coaching employees on safe behaviors and lifting techniques.

The Sales Floor Department Supervisor is primarily responsible for leading and enabling a team of associates to deliver the best possible customer experience in the store. This includes coaching and training associates, delegating, following-up on daily tasks, managing performance, and ensuring adequate department coverage. Responsibilities also include customer-facing activities, non-customer-facing activities, and store safety procedures.

The role involves working with leadership to identify best practices and communicating these to the team to foster engaging, customer-focused behavior. Supervising associates across departments and maintaining broad product knowledge are essential. Communication with management regarding concerns, issues, and morale is also important.

Occasional store opening/closing and serving as manager-on-duty (MOD) may be required.

Travel Requirements: This role does not require regular travel but may occasionally involve travel for meetings, training, or store support.

What We're Looking For
  • Hourly Full Time: Scheduled 39-40 hours, with potential for more based on store needs.
  • Availability for morning, afternoon, and evening shifts any day of the week.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks requiring prolonged standing, sitting, and lifting (minimum 25 pounds).
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with 3 years of retail experience OR 5 years of retail experience.
  • At least 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Experience supporting Pro customers (for Pro Department Supervisor role).
  • Experience leading or supervising teams.
  • Experience in training, mentoring, and cross-functional work.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to obtain sales-related licensure if required by law.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of retail customer service experience.
  • 3+ years supporting Pro customers.
  • Leadership experience with direct report responsibilities.
  • Experience in home improvement retail or fast-paced retail environments.
  • Experience with store computer systems (e.g., Genesis, Sterling, M2O).
