Job Overview

The Sales Floor Department Supervisor is responsible for leading and enabling a team of associates to deliver an exceptional customer experience. This includes coaching, training, delegating tasks, managing performance, and ensuring adequate department coverage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing resources and tools to support customer service efforts.
  • Assisting with down stocking, area recovery, and merchandising decisions.
  • Monitoring safe use of store equipment and coaching on safety and lifting techniques.
  • Leading customer-facing activities such as greeting, needs clarification, and sales closing.
  • Managing non-customer activities like inventory and safety procedures.
  • Communicating best practices and supervising associates across departments as needed.
  • Occasionally opening or closing the store and serving as manager-on-duty.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with 3 years retail experience OR 5 years retail experience.
  • At least 1 year in customer service.
  • Experience supporting Pro customers.
  • Leadership experience supporting or supervising teams.
  • Experience in training, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to obtain required sales licenses or registrations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years in retail customer service and supporting Pro customers.
  • Leadership experience with direct reports.
  • Experience in home improvement retail and fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with store computer systems.
Additional Details

This role is full-time, generally scheduled for 39-40 hours per week, with potential for more. Availability must include mornings, afternoons, and evenings any day of the week. Physical ability to perform tasks such as standing, sitting, and lifting (up to 25 pounds or more) is required.
