Overview

All Lowe’s associates deliver quality customer service while maintaining a store that is clean, safe, and stocked with the products our customers need. As a Sales Floor Department Supervisor, your responsibilities include:

  • Providing resources and tools to support team members in delivering excellent customer service.
  • Assisting with down stocking, area recovery, and merchandising decisions.
  • Monitoring the use of store power equipment and coaching employees on safe behaviors and lifting techniques.
Key Responsibilities

The Sales Floor Department Supervisor leads and enables a team to ensure the best customer experience. This involves coaching, training, delegating, performance management, and ensuring department coverage. You will oversee customer-facing activities (greeting, needs clarification, closing sales), non-customer activities (inventory, down stocking, recovery), and store safety (safety walks, hazard reporting, safety protocols).

You will work with leadership to identify best practices, communicate them to the team, and supervise associates across departments as needed. The role may include opening or closing the store and serving as manager-on-duty (MOD).

Travel Requirements

This role does not require regular travel but may occasionally involve travel for meetings, training, or supporting other stores.

Qualifications
What We're Looking For
  • Full-time, hourly position, generally 39-40 hours/week, with flexible scheduling including mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks requiring prolonged standing, sitting, and lifting (minimum 25 pounds).
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent + 3 years retail experience OR 5 years retail experience.
  • 1 year customer service experience.
  • 1 year supporting Pro customers (for Pro Department Supervisor).
  • Experience supervising or directing teams.
  • Experience in training, mentoring, and cross-functional work.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to obtain necessary sales-related licenses or registrations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years retail customer service experience.
  • 3+ years supporting Pro customers.
  • Leadership experience with direct reports.
  • Experience in home improvement retail and fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with store computer systems (e.g., Genesis, Sterling).
Compensation

Pay Range: $25.20 - $26.25 per hour. Actual starting pay may vary based on factors such as location, experience, and education. Benefits information can be found at our benefits page.
