Overview

The Sales Floor Department Supervisor is responsible for leading a team to deliver excellent customer service, ensuring store safety, and managing daily operations. Key responsibilities include coaching associates, managing inventory and merchandising, and supporting customer needs both in-store and across departments. The role may involve opening or closing the store and serving as manager-on-duty as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coach team members to provide top customer service.
  • Assist with stocking, merchandising, and store recovery.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed, including equipment use and hazard reporting.
  • Manage daily tasks, delegate responsibilities, and monitor performance.
  • Support store safety initiatives and communicate best practices to staff.
  • Engage with customers to clarify needs and close sales.
  • Support cross-departmental operations and communicate with management.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with 3-5 years retail experience.
  • At least 1 year in customer service and supporting Pro customers.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds and perform physical tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extended retail customer service and Pro support experience.
  • Leadership experience with direct reports.
  • Experience in home improvement retail and fast-paced environments.
  • Knowledge of store computer systems.
Additional Details

This is a full-time role, generally scheduled for 39-40 hours per week, with flexibility for shift timings. The role may require occasional travel for training or support to other store locations. The position may also involve store opening, closing, and being manager-on-duty.
