Job Overview

The Sales Floor Department Supervisor is responsible for leading and enabling a team of associates to deliver an excellent customer experience. Key duties include coaching, training, delegating, managing performance, and ensuring department coverage. The role involves customer-facing activities (e.g., greeting, needs clarification, closing sales), non-customer activities (e.g., stocking, inventory management), and store safety (e.g., safety walks, hazard reporting).

Responsibilities
  • Provide resources and tools to support customer service teams.
  • Assist with stocking, area recovery, and merchandising decisions.
  • Monitor and coach employees on safe equipment use and lifting techniques.
  • Supervise associates across departments as needed to meet store demands.
  • Engage in safety practices and communicate best practices to the team.
  • Support store opening/closing and serve as manager-on-duty when required.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus 3 years retail experience OR 5 years retail experience.
  • At least 1 year in customer service and supporting Pro customers.
  • Experience in team supervision, training, and cross-functional work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds and perform physical tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years retail customer service and Pro support experience.
  • Leadership experience with direct report responsibilities.
  • Experience in home improvement retail and fast-paced environments.
  • Knowledge of store computer systems.
Additional Details
