Experienced Communications and Marketing Professional
Altar Produce, a leader in high-quality fresh produce with a strong focus on wet vegetables—especially green onions—is seeking an experienced Sales Executive to join our team. This role plays a critical part in driving growth, strengthening customer relationships, and executing strategic sales initiatives across our product lines.
Under the general supervision of Sales Leadership, this position collaborates cross-functionally with Operations, Quality Control, Procurement, Marketing, Logistics, and company executives. The ideal candidate has a strong network and proven success in fresh produce sales, particularly within the green onions segment.
RESPONSABILITIES
- Own and drive revenue, profit, volume, and customer satisfaction for assigned or developed accounts.
- Maintain and grow Altar Produce’s market share in wet vegetables—with an emphasis on green onions.
- Cultivate strong relationships with retail, wholesale, and foodservice buyers.
- Evaluate and navigate market trends and competitors to support strategy development.
- Partner with category managers to promote green onions and other wet vegetable items.
- Create and present compelling customer proposals and business reviews.
- Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing.
- Enter and manage sales orders accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with Operations and Quality Control to ensure customer product specifications are met.
- Coordinate with Logistics and Finance teams to ensure timely delivery, invoicing, and account reconciliation.
- Represent Altar Produce at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings.
- Analyze customer data to identify growth opportunities and improve service delivery.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in customer engagement and product offerings.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business, or a related field—or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience in fresh produce, with direct knowledge of wet vegetables and green onions required.
Knowledge and Skills
- Deep understanding of green onions and other wet vegetable markets, customer needs, and supply chain requirements.
- Demonstrated success managing national or regional accounts.
- Excellent sales and account management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to create and deliver persuasive presentations and proposals.
- Experience in working cross-functionally with internal departments.
- Ability to travel as needed to support account development and attend industry events.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Office-based with occasional travel to customer sites, events, and growing/packing operations.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs occasionally.
- Extended periods working on a computer or phone.
- Moderate to high stress during peak season.
