$120,000.00/yr - $216,000.00/yr

  • Required Education and Years of Experience: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university AND minimum Four (4) years of experience working in a matrixed organization within the employee health benefits industry and Five (5) years of experience in national sales
  • Licensing: Appropriately licensed and/or certified in states where applicable (within 3 months of hire)

The Role

This role is responsible for driving advanced sales strategies to acquire new members and maximize opportunities with global and national employers. It involves developing and executing complex sales plans, advising on commercial contracts, and aligning strategies to support health programs, third-party integration, and company-employer objectives. The position leads cross-market initiatives, leveraging enterprise resources—such as legal, compliance, underwriting, and product teams—to create innovative, customer-focused solutions and influence high-level decision-making

Responsibilities

  • Drives cross-functional collaboration by building relationships, communicating effectively, and mentoring junior team members while modeling adaptability and self-leadership
  • Leads business-specific projects by applying subject matter expertise, adhering to policies, managing risks, and solving complex problems in partnership with internal and external stakeholders
  • Develops and manages work plans to meet business priorities, delegate resources, track progress, and influence project completion
  • Provides high-level customer service by resolving complex inquiries, identifying service improvements, and communicating company value proposition to leads, prospects, and brokers
  • Executes sales strategies by leveraging prospecting tools and resources, managing referral networks, and building relationships with brokers, consultants, and decision-makers
  • Plans and supports open enrollment events through strategic content development, performance evaluation, and partnership with influencers and community groups
  • Contributes to long-term sales strategy by analyzing industry trends, customer insights, and competitor data to guide internal decisions and external positioning
  • Uses sales data and performance reports to drive follow-ups, achieve targets, and inform complex sales planning and execution
  • Collaborates with leadership to shape optimal market segmentation, offering conditions, and pricing strategies that align with company goals
  • Promotes continuous improvement by recognizing business opportunities, implementing changes, and evaluating the effectiveness of strategic decisions

Qualifications

  • Four (4) years of experience working in a matrixed organization
  • Five (5) years of experience in national sales
  • Sales and Strategic Account Management: Expertise in national/multi-state sales, opportunity orchestration, partnership strategy, and sales performance analysis
  • Business Acumen and Data-Driven Insight: Strong capabilities in applied data and trend analysis, tracking, and aligning strategy with organizational goals
  • Negotiation and Compliance: Skilled in managing complex negotiations and ensuring adherence to regulatory and compliance standards
  • Relationship Building and Influence: Proven ability to build trust, advise stakeholders, and collaborate across functions using strong interpersonal and persuasion skills
  • Adaptability and Execution: Demonstrates creativity, innovation, accountability, and autonomy in dynamic environments; adept at goal setting, embracing challenges, and delivering results
