Job summary

Tenna is seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to empower the Sales Team with strategic technical support throughout the full sales cycle, including compelling product demonstrations and precise responses to buyer questions. You will manage demonstration environments and translate customer needs into actionable platform guidance.

As SME for Tenna's platform, you will train Sales and Customer Success colleagues, collaborate with Engineering and Product, and help shape our technical messaging

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a Sales Engineer or pre-sales role.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, CS, or related field preferred.
• Strong experience with Salesforce, Help Scout, HubSpot, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical sales support to the Sales Team across the sales cycle, including product demonstrations.
• Answer prospective customer questions and convey the platform's technical capabilities.
• Build and maintain software demonstration environments per specifications.
• Use a consultative approach to understand customer pain points and address them.
• Collaborate with Customer Success to field technical support questions for existing customers.
• Work with Engineering and Product to stay updated on platform changes and resolve issues.
• Serve as the company SME on platform features and train internal teams.
• Onboard new Sales and Customer Success Reps onto the platform and certify training programs.
• Collaborate with Marketing to revise technical presentations and materials.
• Evaluate and adjust Sales and Customer Success strategies as needed, and liaise with leadership on roadmap.

Position Description Tenna is searching for an experienced Sales Engineer to support our Sales Team. In this pivotal role, you'll be at the forefront of our sales efforts, providing strategic sales support throughout the entire sales cycle, including impactful product demonstrations and negotiations. You'll be the go-to expert, answering prospective customer questions precisely while maintaining software demonstration environments tailored to specifications. By using a consultative approach, you'll gain a deep understanding of our prospective customers' pain points and effectively address their needs. Additionally, you'll collaborate closely with various internal teams, including Customer Success, Engineering, and Product. As the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Tenna's platform, you'll lead internal product training, ensuring that our Sales and Customer Success teams are well-equipped to excel and advise on our offerings.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical sales support to the Sales Team by actively participating in all aspects of the sales cycle, including product demonstrations.
• Answers prospective customer questions and fully conveys the technical capacities of our platform.
• Builds and maintains software demonstration environments per specifications.
• Employs a consultative approach to better understand and address prospective customers’ pain points.
• Works with Customer Success to field and address technical support questions from existing customers as needed.
• Collaborates cross-functionally with Engineering and Product to stay abreast of all platform-specific changes and resolve customer issues.
• Serves as the company’s SME on platform-specific features and functionalities.
• Leads all product-specific support and training internally.
• Onboard all newly hired Sales and Customer Success Reps onto the platform.
• Certifies and signs off on all internal training programs once complete.
• Collaborates with Marketing to revise technical presentations and materials.
• Evaluate our current Sales and Customer Success strategies, recommending adjustments when needed.
• Liaises with Executive Leadership on internal training, strategy, and product roadmap.
• Assists with maintaining Salesforce and HubSpot databases.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in a Sales Engineer or pre-sales role.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong experience with Salesforce, Help Scout, HubSpot, or similar programs preferred.
• Strong, active analytical curiosity and creativity, as well as flexible critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Ability to flexibly travel 50% as business dictates.
• Positive attitude with a strong desire to learn and stay abreast of changes to our platform.
