Job summary

Crane ChemPharma & Energy seeks a technically curious engineer to lead multi‑discipline projects from initiation to delivery. You will negotiate opportunities, gather details, and translate customer needs into robust product designs while maintaining strong client relationships.

Ideal candidates have a BS in engineering, exposure to lean/Six Sigma, and proficiency with MS Office; OSHA safety rules knowledge is a plus. Travel to client sites and industry events is expected.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering or related field; 2–3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of OSHA and related safety regulations.
  • Effective problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate sales opportunities and manage projects from initiation through delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships and loyalty.
  • Analyze customer needs to develop appropriate product designs and specifications.
  • Plan and track project expenditures and motivate team members.

Job description

Principle Duties (includes, but is not limited to):
  • Negotiate sales opportunities
  • Create basic piping layouts and gather project details
  • Manage projects from initiation through delivery
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships and loyalty
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Effective navigation of complex sales situations
  • Practical engineering and design capabilities
  • Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Industry knowledge and familiarity with technical systems
  • Logical reasoning and decision‑making skills
  • Identify technical or operational challenges, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions
  • Analyze customer needs to develop appropriate product designs
  • Operate and understand relevant equipment and systems
  • Adapt technology and equipment to meet customer requirements
  • Perform basic structural or piping analysis (Bentley AutoPipe experience a plus)
  • Evaluate costs, benefits, and impacts of potential actions
  • Understand system behavior and how operating conditions affect results
  • Identify performance indicators and determine required corrective actions
  • Manage personal time and coordinate team activities
  • Plan and track project expenditures
  • Motivate, develop, and guide team members
  • Secure and manage equipment, materials, and facilities needed for project success

  • Strong technical curiosity and ability to understand complex applications and system requirements
  • Professional communication skills across engineering, purchasing, maintenance, and executive levels
  • Self‑motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple customer requests and opportunities
  • Commercially minded with an understanding of balancing customer needs, technical fit, and profitability
  • Willingness to travel for customer meetings, site visits, trade shows, and business development activities
Technology & Computer Skills
  • Use databases to organize and report information
  • Create and manipulate graphics
  • Develop and deliver presentations
  • Build and maintain spreadsheets with charts and data analysis
  • Use measuring and drafting tools (laser tape measures, levels, drafting scales, templates, compasses, etc.)
Essential Qualifications
  • B.S. in Engineering or related field 2–3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of OSHA and related safety regulations
  • Effective problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using OpEx/CBS tools
  • Demonstrated success in facilitating operational changes
  • Ability to interpret process and product specifications
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar standards
  • Additional background in safety and industrial hygiene regulations

#CPE #LI-VD1 Salary Range: $120,000 to $190,000. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Compensation packages also include comprehensive benefits, 401K contribution and match, Paid Time Off, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement and more. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
