The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sales Engineer to drive growth within the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC). The role combines technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, requiring deep knowledge of security tools and excellent communication skills. Experience selling to federal agencies and strong relationships within the DoD and IC are essential.

Responsibilities include leading technical presentations, proof of value demonstrations, and showcasing integration with security products. The role is ideal for someone with technical pre-sales experience in cybersecurity, understanding of solutions like SOAR and SIEM, and familiarity with threat hunting methodologies. Location in the DC/MD/VA area is preferred.

What You Will Do
  1. Own and lead technical sales activities, including discovery, demonstrations, evaluation, POC, and RFP processes.
  2. Address technology-related obstacles in sales opportunities.
  3. Understand customer needs through discovery and research.
  4. Deliver targeted demos demonstrating our solutions.
  5. Customize messaging based on client requirements.
  6. Coordinate technical product evaluations.
  7. Communicate strategic topics to internal and external senior leaders.
  8. Identify market trends and opportunities, relaying insights to executives.
  9. Maintain in-depth knowledge of our product portfolio and the cybersecurity landscape, especially threat intelligence.
  10. Collaborate with sales engineering, sales, product, marketing, and support teams.
What You Will Bring
  1. 5+ years of sales engineering experience in cybersecurity, intelligence, or threat intelligence, focusing on U.S. Government, especially DoD and IC.
  2. Familiarity with threat intelligence, SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, and cyber deception technologies.
  3. Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  4. Knowledge of SIEM, SOAR, TIP, and OSINT investigations.
  5. Experience with Python, command line tools, JSON, and APIs.
  6. Understanding of Threat Hunting methodologies.
  7. Active security clearance (TS/SCI).
  8. Strong presentation and relationship-building skills.
  9. Ability to travel as required.
  10. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
