Job summary

Graybar is seeking a Sales Engineer - Industrial Automation in the United States. The role involves specifying products to meet customer requirements, recommending inventories, and informing staff and customers about new automation developments.

You will provide technical services and support for operation and maintenance of automation equipment. Candidates should have at least 1 year in sales/marketing, a 2-year technical degree, and strong knowledge of automation products and engineering

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of progressively responsible sales, marketing, and/or field experience.
• 2-year degree or technical college or equivalent.
• 6+ years experience preferred.
• Knowledge of high-tech automation and control products.
• Knowledge of engineering principles related to customer automation products.
• Excellent oral and written communication; able to present to non-technical staff.
• Willingness to travel extensively.

Make a difference.As a Sales Engineer - Industrial Automation, you will support the sales of high-tech automation and control products and work with branch personnel to identify opportunities for products to satisfy customer needs.In this role you will:Specify products to meet customer requirements and needsRecommend inventory of automation productsInform sales staff and customers of new developments in automation and related products technologyProvide technical services to customers for the operation and maintenance of automation equipmentProvide technical support of automation and control products to customers and Company personnel and new product updatesWhat you bring to the table:Minimum 1 year of experience required in progressively more responsible sales, marketing, and/or field experience2 year degree required, Technical college or equivalent6+ years experience preferredKnowledge of high-tech automation and control productsKnowledge of engineering principles related to customer automation productsKnowledge of suppliers' automation productsOral and written communication skillsInterpersonal, organizational and team building skillsAbility to work effectively with management and evaluate customer needsAbility to clearly present complex solutions to non-technical staffAbility to make oral and written presentations to internal and external contactsExtensive travel requiredPay Details:The expected salary for this position is $100,000 annually depending on experience. This position is also bonus eligible based on specific and relevant business metrics.This role requires the use of your personal vehicle for business purposes.
