Hi I’m Kevin Suhajda, Sales lead at Codemagic. We’ve been growing fast lately and we’re planning for even more growth going forward. I’m looking for a Sales Engineer to join the team to help us generate more sales opportunities. The ideal candidate should have a great blend of technical and sales skills. Your main goal will be to generate sales opportunities with mobile application development teams by showing them how they can achieve their development goals with Codemagic CI/CD.
As a Sales Engineer, you will be an expert of our product and able to consult our customers on how they can achieve their development goals with Codemagic.
We call this position Sales Engineer because the job involves engineering tasks like creating demos, solving technical problems, learning to use new tools, and sales tasks like emailing (a lot of emails), chasing replies from people that don’t necessarily reply to you in the first 2 or 3 emails, calling them, and adding people on LinkedIn. Sales engineers are also responsible for creating demand generation campaigns in collaboration with marketing at Codemagic.
It is often the Sales tasks that people are afraid of, hence the name Sales Engineer. Applying for this job means you will have to embrace the Sales side of things as well
Our philosophy is that one person should be able to take the customer from initial contact to a successful onboarding. We can teach and coach you on customer-facing skills, as well as product-specific knowledge, but ultimately, you are expected to be able to troubleshoot and assist customers yourself. This means there is no “let me check with the expert on this” or “let me get someone to help you.” YOU are the expert, and you are expected to help the customer get started with the product.
In addition to customer-facing responsibilities, Sales at Codemagic also works on new demand generation campaigns. We are hyper-focused on a particular problem or value proposition that a customer segment has, and Sales then prepares materials (e.g. videos or demo applications) to show how Codemagic can help those customers. We then collaborate with a marketing agency, and they will prepare creatives and figure out how to show the ads to our desired audience.
