Job summary

Clarapath in Hawthorne, NY (on-site) seeks a Sales Development Representative to identify and qualify prospects for SectionStar and TrimStar Pro platforms. You will research target accounts, initiate outbound outreach, respond to inquiries, and create qualified meetings for the sales team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Life Sciences, or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in sales, business development, customer-facing roles, or similar.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable making outbound calls and initiating conversations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and relationships with new contacts.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to learn and communicate technical products and concepts.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales prospecting tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Research and identify prospective customers and target accounts in pathology, laboratory, healthcare, and life sciences.
  • Conduct outbound prospecting via phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels.
  • Respond promptly to inbound leads and inquiries.
  • Qualify prospects based on business needs, fit, interest, and purchasing potential.
  • Schedule qualified meetings and product discussions for the sales team.
  • Maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified prospects.
  • Build relationships with prospective customers and serve as initial contact for Clarapath.
  • Learn and communicate Clarapath’s products, technology, and value proposition.
  • Maintain CRM records with up-to-date prospect and activity data.
  • Track outreach, meetings, opportunities, and conversions.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to refine prospecting strategies.
  • Follow up consistently with prospects through the qualification process.
  • Participate in sales meetings, training, and events as needed.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and developments in pathology and lab automation.

Role Summary

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) will play a key role in supporting Clarapath’s sales and business development efforts by identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective customers for Clarapath’s advanced SectionStar™ and TrimStar Pro™ platforms. This individual will be responsible for researching target accounts, initiating outbound prospecting efforts, responding to inbound inquiries, and generating qualified meetings and opportunities for the sales team. Working closely with sales, marketing, and customer-facing teams, the SDR will help build a strong sales pipeline and create meaningful relationships with prospective customers across the laboratory, pathology, healthcare, and life sciences industries. We are seeking a motivated, personable, and proactive sales professional who enjoys building relationships, learning complex technology, and engaging with customers to understand their needs. The ideal candidate is comfortable with outbound outreach, thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, and is excited about representing innovative medical technology that is transforming laboratory workflows and improving patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Research and identify prospective customers and target accounts within the pathology, laboratory, healthcare, and life sciences markets
  • Conduct outbound prospecting through phone calls, email, LinkedIn, and other appropriate channels
  • Respond promptly and professionally to inbound leads and inquiries
  • Qualify prospective customers based on business needs, fit, interest, and purchasing potential
  • Schedule qualified meetings and product discussions for members of the sales team
  • Develop and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified prospects
  • Build relationships with prospective customers and serve as a knowledgeable first point of contact for Clarapath
  • Learn and effectively communicate Clarapath’s products, technology, value proposition, and applications
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date prospect and activity information in the company’s CRM
  • Track outreach activities, meetings, opportunities, and conversion metrics
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to refine prospecting strategies and messaging
  • Follow up consistently with prospects throughout the qualification process
  • Participate in sales meetings, training, trade shows, conferences, and other business development activities as needed
  • Stay informed about industry trends, customer needs, competitive activity, and developments in pathology and laboratory automation
  • Meet or exceed established activity, qualified meeting, pipeline generation, and other performance goals
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Life Sciences, or a related field preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in sales, business development, customer-facing, recruiting, or a related role preferred
