Job summary

SM Systems in Bhubaneswar seeks a technically adept sales professional to own regional sales and after-sales support for utilities, railways, defence, and EPC accounts. You will drive quotes, tenders, and orders, and coordinate demos, trials, and commissioning of cable fault location and transformer monitoring systems.

The role requires 5–6 years in B2B technical sales or hands-on service, with strong English and Hindi communication.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech Electrical or Electrical and Electronics with 5–6 years in B2B technical sales or hands-on application, commissioning or service work.
• Existing contacts or access in utilities, railways or industry in Bhubaneswar.
• Comfortable with tender and empanelment processes, and at live sites with safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Own sales and technical support in Bhubaneswar and nearby districts: utilities, railways, defence units, industrial plants, and EPC and contractor accounts.
• Find new accounts, meet engineers and purchase teams, and take enquiries through to quote, tender, order and payment.
• Understand customer requirements and prepare technical and commercial offers, respond to tenders and RFQs.
• Run demos, site trials and commissioning of cable fault location, cable testing and diagnostics, and transformer monitoring systems.
• Train customer engineers and provide first-level support, with escalation to principals.
• Report pipeline weekly, keep CRM current, and write short site reports.

SM Systems, based in Nashik, supplies power and utility test and diagnostic solutions: cable fault location, cable testing and diagnostics, transformer monitors, and temperature and pressure instruments. We are a channel partner for 3M, BAUR, Red Phase, Qualitrol and American Polywater. Our customers include power utilities, railways, defence, food and pharma.

Role & responsibilities

• Own sales and technical support in Bhubaneswar and nearby districts: utilities, railways, defence units, industrial plants, and EPC and contractor accounts.
• Find new accounts, meet engineers and purchase teams, and take enquiries through to quote, tender, order and payment.
• Understand the customer requirement and recommend the right test or monitoring solution. Prepare technical and commercial offers, and respond to tenders and RFQs.
• Run demos, site trials and commissioning of cable fault location, cable testing and diagnostics, and transformer monitoring systems.
• Train customer engineers and give first-level support, with escalation to the principals.
• Report pipeline weekly, keep the CRM current, and write short site reports.

Preferred candidate profile

• BE/BTech Electrical or Electrical and Electronics, with 5 to 6 years in B2B technical sales or hands-on application, commissioning or service work. Cable, substation, switchgear, T&D, test and measurement or instrumentation is ideal.
• Existing contacts or access in utilities, railways or industry in Bhubaneswar.
• Comfortable with tender and empanelment processes, and at live sites with safety procedures.
• Clear written and spoken English plus Hindi.
• Self-driven and able to work without an office. Own two-wheeler or car and a laptop. Willing to travel in the region and occasionally to Nashik for training.
• Good to have: knowledge of cable fault location, partial discharge, VLF, tan delta or transformer monitoring. Experience selling principal-brand products through a channel partner.
