Position Summary

The Sales Consultant – Virtual Sales promotes the company’s products and services by building relationships with customers via virtual mediums such as video conferencing, phone, email, and other electronic means. This role involves using consultative selling techniques to grow sales of amenities, textiles, room accessories, paper, janitorial supplies, cleaning, and FF&E products to hotels, motels, management groups, and other markets within an assigned territory. The focus is on helping customers succeed while achieving sales and profit goals. Compensation includes a base salary and quarterly bonuses based on KPIs.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Maintain and identify new sales opportunities within current and prospective accounts. Conduct virtual calls and presentations to strengthen customer relationships and increase sales.
  2. Use consultative selling, product knowledge, ROI analysis, research tools (e.g., Phocas, GForce, Salesforce.com), and sales training resources to target new prospects and market growth.
  3. Build and expand customer relationships through virtual means.
  4. Manage assigned accounts proactively, addressing issues to improve customer experience.
  5. Consult with accounts about new products, company updates, pricing, and opportunities.
  6. Notify management of at-risk accounts or unresolved issues.
  7. Coordinate with Accounts Receivable to ensure timely payments.
  8. Communicate with internal departments to ensure customer needs are met, including product changes and new business opportunities.
  9. Assist in setting up new accounts, including documentation, pricing, and scheduling.
  10. Forecast sales results and trends accurately.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, or Business preferred.

Minimum Experience

  • 1-3 years of sales experience with a proven success record.
  • Experience in hospitality or distributed supplies industry is preferred.
  • Experience in relationship sales, managing customer opportunities, and up-selling is advantageous.

  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently and in teams.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office 365, video conferencing, internet navigation, and familiarity with CRM tools like Salesforce.com is a plus.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Regularly sit, stand, walk, and operate a computer and phone. Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Moderate noise level.
  • Primarily remote work from a home office with adequate internet and a dedicated workspace.
  • Some travel for training, meetings, or industry events may be required.
