Job Overview

This Sales Consultant – Center Store – Lead is responsible for managing sales strategies for Center Store Sales Consultants. It includes developing, coordinating, and evaluating activities within the assigned sales territory to ensure ongoing sales growth for the Center Store categories/brands and UNFI customers. The role involves managing growth while achieving margin targets, collaborating with Region Sales on key accounts, and acting as the Center Store category expert.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Train and mentor new Sales Consultants and support Region Sales on category/brand strategies.
  2. Develop sales plans with key retailers for market positioning and effective competition within categories/brands.
  3. Partner with Region Sales to drive sales in key accounts.
  4. Assist in conducting annual business reviews and establish sales plans for accounts.
  5. Identify customer needs and develop relationships to drive sales and profitability.
  6. Support accounts operationally to enhance mutual results.
  7. Manage customer meetings and participate in industry events to promote categories and meet clients.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education/Certifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
Experience
  • Minimum five years of related experience, with preferred experience in Center Store categories/brands.
Skills/Abilities
  • Proficient in sales strategies and techniques.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong understanding of company products, services, and competitors.
  • Excellent project management, leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to new issues.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
Other Details

This is a hybrid role with a schedule of 3-5 days onsite per week, with travel up to 90%. Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment, with some physical activity required.
